Paul - I love your videos on the Pa5x. I learn something new everytime and it makes me love this keyboard even more! One thing to note, I use the ipad app "forscore" for my sheet music and I tried to get it to work with the song book in Pa5x but I couldn't get it to work so I downloaded Songbook+ app as you suggested. In addition to the cable connection you discuss in the video, there are some steps one has to do on the Pa5x and in Songbook+ to get it to work. First, you have to go on the Pa5x into settings/midi, then make sure the "midi preset" is "tablet." Then in the Songbook+ app (on ipad), you must go into settings/midi and make sure the "Easy Keyboard Control" has "Korg Songbook Entry (with code)" selected and the "Channel" is set to 16. Thank you for the great tips and I look forward to your next video on the Pa5x (hopefully about the new update soon)!

Hi Paul. That was very interesting about the Songbook plus. At the moment, I have all my music on forscore. Would you know if it would be easy to move the music from forscore to Songbook please?

Thanks for another great and informative video. I still play using sheet music sheets and the Bible books. After watching this video it has rekindle my interest in looking into switching to the digital method. Have a greater understanding now. You mentioned next week's session on playing, hints and tips. Could you talk about any hints or tips on creating and adding into a song a Solo. I understand the basic principles, like playing in the same key etc., but still struggle on songs. Sometimes do to lack of creating a solo, depending on the intro section 2 or 3 button, Genos, will reintroduce that as a Solo. But need help on creating my own. Look forward to next Friday.

Just a thought re a question from a live listener. He asked if you could choose the four one touch settings when it first boots up. Obviously "My setting" doesn't include that. On my Pa5x I have made mine boot up to a style that has 4 one touch settings of my making. So my solution might be. Create a user style from a preferred style. And then modify the 4 one touch settings to your tastes within that user style.. Then on a pa5x you have a startup file in. settings, General Controls, and startup tab on the right. Simply choose that user style, with the 4 one touch settings you made, in the player1 option.. job done. PA5X is amazing in the things we can do. I also have a Genos 2. Currently I cannot find anything that can load up my preferred initial settings. If there is a way, maybe someone can point me to that. Thanx

You will be amazed by the new features on the next version 1.4. KORG did not just add the missing features like the QUICK RECORD, they improved it a lot. You will be surprised by all the new features. The version 1.4 is still being finished and will not be available for at least 2 months. But there KORG will be forgiven for these 3 years of waiting so much they have added new features on this version. This arranger will become out of competition.

Sorry, I don't want to take away from your excellent instructions, but I think it is a misunderstanding to always increase the volume when you go up. Musically it can be desirable to hold back when you go up. I also use a style dynamics control, which I assign to one of my pedals .Thanks for the many tips by the way. Too bad that on the RUclips channels I mainly hear performances by amateur keyboard players who get little out of the many possibilities of the Genos to build up a piece of music musically. I think that also has to do with musical awareness and lack of technique. Hi, I have just used my Genos yesterday for the first time, so yes I am still wandering around. However you used an expression peddle on one section, did you have peddle so as to cover both styles and voice or had you preset to just R1 R2 R3. Thanks Graham

Genos 2 - The latest update 2.13 will not load in my keyboard - The keyboard says that there is no data on the USB stick. I tested the USB with an earlier update and it can see that.

Hey i own a sx920. Coming from korg pa 600, i could not find an option to control volume of individual pads, only one slider to control 4 multipads is not adequate. Kindly say is there an option to control volume, effects level and common parameters of each multipads. Also while creating multipads with rhythamic parts, is there an option to quantize the recording.

why is it that we have to have the trumpet shake on when we hit the keys hard? Why can't we have the shake when we move the pitch module forward for super articulation? I think Yamaha made a big mistake there!

I am officially old and thick! I went to format a USB stick on my G2 and accidentally formatted the one that E-Pianos had left in for me in the wee secretive under-the-counter drive housing. I thought that was for hiding the really dodgy stuff! So now I am fully aware as to where USB2 is - and that it can be also known as USB1. I wonder - is it worth pointing this out to other oldsters? Apparently Yamaha also do this......
