The plain truth is the Indian Indentured workers voluntarily signed contracts to work in the colonies plantations. Many worked in different colonies, many went back to India with their monies earned. Many resigned new contracts to go back and work. One can hardly call this slavery because only the blacks from Africa & Kanak Pacific islanders were real slaves captured by force, shipped and sold off to plantation owners. I know my father's mother was Indian. They come from the island of St Lucia. But that's all I know. I only met my father twice as a child.
