    People need to stop delete the AHC system and just properly set it up, instead of just throwing coilovers at it. The AHC system is amazing if done right. Throw some spring preload spacers on it and some spacers on the top of the hats to get the pressures all equalized at the higher ride height and weight. Also, replace the globes. A 200,000 miles truck will probably need new globes which is probably 99% of the reason for the poor ride.

    • @4JOutffiters

      I’m sure my system needed new parts but with the added weight of bumper and winch I know it would stress the new part and fatigue them rather quickly. You are correct before I added the bumper and winch and other items the AHC worked great and I loved the self leveling when I would haul a trailer.

      @@4JOutffiters That bumper doesnt add anymore weight than my bike rack to the rear suspension and mine doesnt ride bad when loaded. Hell I put thirty 30 lb bags of mulch in the back of my LX last night and it still rode pretty well. The secret would be to put a preload spacer on the springs so that the springs take more of the load of the bumper at ride height.

    • @4JOutffiters
      @4JOutffiters 2 месяца назад

      I had the metal Toyota spacer when I still had the AHC installed. Yes It helps with the add weight. If you want to keep AHC then keep it but this video is for anyone that doesn’t want to keep it. Also I hope you are talking about a dirt bike because I wouldn’t want to ride a bicycle that weights 150-200 pounds.

      Dont delete AHC unless you plan on wheeling the truck super hard. AHC is awesome. People complaining about it riding rough is probably on high mile trucks that need the globes replaced and/or have not taken care of replacing the fluid. The AHC fluid I believe is supposed to be replaced somewhat regularly. They are a wear item. A lot of people on ih8mud replace them at ~150k miles.

    • @4JOutffiters
      @4JOutffiters 5 месяцев назад

      No I meant Toyota AHC fluid. It’s a type of hydraulic fluid. The LX version of the 200 series did not have the KDSS. I don’t think the KDSS has a fluid but could be wrong. I thought it was some kind of sway bar damper. Not sure

    • @mikearend997
      @mikearend997 5 месяцев назад

      @@4JOutffiters Ah, yes, I forgot that the LX570 had that. It sounds like a good system. The KDSS system uses hydraulic fluid that as the wheels articulate it disconnects the sway bars for greater wheel travel and articulation, to keep the tires in contact with the ground. I don't think the LX570's came with that. Just the 200 series LC and some GX460's and Prado 150's. Keep up the great work!

    I'm still on AHC .been almost 3 years since adding bumpers whinch and long travel arms. I do enjoy being able to have a moderate ride hight around town, low at highway speeds and haven a taller ride height when on the trail. The car does 6 trips a year... each trip we get about 32-48 hours of straight rock. System does flash service AHC after a few hours but goes away an hour into ride home. I do have king 3.0s for a tundra just waiting on a AHC failure... but it just keeps functioning. Very hardie system

    I'm on the fence with whether to sell my LX 470 with Ironman 2.5" lift that replaced AHC to get a LX 570 with AHC. Without the front bumper and just a sensor lift and aggressive tires would it still be okay offroad? Wife has a 2015 Land Cruiser and it rides like a dream. My LX 470 rides like a box truck... any happy medium with what you've got going on since you experienced both?

    • @4JOutffiters
      @4JOutffiters Год назад

      I like my current setup. I think stock AHC with stock tires and the 570 would ride as good or better as your wife’s LC. Add 285’s, sensor lift and a front bumper and the 570 will drive like your 470 box truck. The setup I have is the middle ground. I recently went up in tire air pressure and it took out even more body roll. It rides smooth on the highway and handles the rough spots with less bounce. The only thing about the AHC I miss was the rear auto leveling when trailering.

      @@4JOutffiters I wish I could afford the 2024 LC, but that’s not in the cards for me. Re ride quality, I put LT285/70r17 Wildpeak AT’s on with Icon wheels and my LX570 definitely felt more sluggish and less responsive on highways. But off-road much better grip and confidence doing the passes in southern Colorado. Braking also got worse but will have the shop take a look at the ABS. The vehicle looks great with the 33” tires and wider stance and sliders, a lot of compliments on looks and trail worthiness. But I will probably put the stock wheels and tires on when not on off-road trips. Mileage was about 1.5 mpg worse, so heavier wheels will make a noticeable difference.

    Thanks for the comment! The ride with just sensor lift and A/T tires was fine, factory like. When I add the extra weight of the front bumper and winch is when I started having problems. If I would have keep the sensors at stock height and added the bumper/winch it probably would have been ok but can’t confirm that. I do know adding weight and doing sensor lift really over worked the AHC system and fatigue, the fluid, and possibly globes.

    • @brkbtjunkie

    Good info in your video 👍. Question: as far as the sensor lift goes, before you deleted your AHC, how did it ride overall? This is before the spacers, just with doing the sensor lift. I am very interested in doing just the sensor lift on my 2010 LX570 as I did add an AT tire and would like to add just a mild lift without sacrificing too much of the ride quality. Thanks
