Thank you! I have been so wary of using braid because I was concerned about tying it to a mono or fluorocarbon leader. Now, with this tool (I bought a few of them) and with your video, I can use braid without worrying. You’re the man.

neat tool. bought a pack ten cheaply. tested and admirable. plastic prevented knot slip like the stainless steel does.

I bought this last year and it was collecting dust in my tackle box until I looked for a video post that explains how to use it. Thanks for your input. I also agree with you a lot of sharp edges on the tool that can damage the line. Maybe it's best use is a dust collector.

Some brands of braid have a waxy coating on it. I won't say, but it's best to remove the waxy coating before tying your fg knot.

In locking the FG knot in order to keep the knot small you lock the knot using the braid tag end, not the leader material.

Terrible terrible knot 50 percent knot strength a GT knot 100 percent knot strength. . Her's a few more for you a Yucatan knot a carrot knot and Albright knot a uni knot .

I'm trying to imagine getting out the tool, taking 5 minutes to to a knot, and then finishing it off by burning the leader without affecting the braid a few thousandths of an inch away and doing it all on a rocking boat in the wind in low light conditions... Hard pass.

It’s actually a 2 in 1 you can push the hook as you did or you can pull it out , and you can you on small fish I use the same one you have on tog, this is how = hold the line in one hand and use the tool to pull the hook. the fish own weight removes it. You don’t even have to touch the fish to use . Once you learn how to use it you won’t use anything else.

Dude, you're totally lost on knot tying, feel sorry for you if you have to use a tool to tie fishing line!

That is a pretty handy gadget. And so was the other tool that has the three disc-shaped knobs. Very ingenious.

this is in fact an amazing tool. I have 2 just in case one broken. one is all the time in my fish gear box and another one kept at home. All my friends have at least one of this electric knot tying tool. It worth all the money we pay for it and we cant imagine our anglers life without it 😊

You're not using the hook tie correctly. You didn't put your line through the eye of the hook first.

Manual Bobbin is faster for this PR knot

Do you need hands to use this tool?...

It's a waste of money....all you need is....the line coming out of the tip guide of your rod....to your reel hamdle.... wrap it about 6 times and you're set to go 🤙😎👍

What some of you have failed to realize is that he is showing a tool for those that might want/need it. It's great if you can do it faster by hand. Not all people have the same hand dexterity for whatever reason. If you want to trash him, put the link to your RUclips channel in your post. I thought it was pretty informative. He might have made a different knot than what's posted but people that had no idea about these knot tying tools now have an idea. Subscribed!

Another piece of must have equipment that I won’t be using

I have a love hate relationship with this tool. It does a great job making sell knots but it doesn't hold the hooks well. I have 4 different versions. the one you show , an one piece metal one, and 2 different plastic ones. The biggest flaw imop is the fact that some hooks will move when being rotated. it doesn't hold offset hooks fully parallel due to the hook design. All in all I do use them extremely often. I just think they would have been better off using a duel adjustment system with a more pointed top to better accommodate different hook styles and sizes while holding more securely.

Is there any advantage with a bent tip over a straight tip?

Video is great and helpful, but one suggestion is that you could consider not to put a background music or make it not as loud, else it could be hard to hear you especially when going back and forth the timeline trying to follow. Cheers :-)

Just use a snap swivel I tied a few of those knots by hand they were not too easy every time my line snapped it really hurt.

Could have tied it 5 times by hand by now😂
