i love dogs i have one as well. This one seems so nice and it is but it is a big problem in Turkey, especially in Istanbul. Sometimes group of dogs become aggressive when you walk in some area as they probably feel to protect it. There are many cases where dogs bite people and even deadly ones. The shelters are not enough and in many of those they dont treat animals well. It is a huge problem to be resolved by some sane person or group

I recommend tourists visiting princes' islands in istanbul. They have a deep history and the texture of islands are very nice, and they are also very serene and peaceful in a way that soothes your soul. Another bonus is that there are lots of cats, literally everywhere. But my friends claim that they are annoyed by the people taking pictures of their houses constantly so please try to be more emphathic and not take pictures of the private houses will you? 😊

Sometimes they'll randomly decide you AR part of the pack now. And will start following you. I am serious I had it happen to me more then once and yeah it's a great feeling.

The reason for this is that the Turks accepted Islam much later than the Arabs, and you can still see the effects of Tengrism in abundance. In Tengrism, nature and animals are sacred and very important for our existence. Even the wolf is seen as a part and important element of the steppe in Turkic communities.
