Former Black Supremacist Finds Peace Through Relationships
Yes!!
Curious to hear how he defines separation of church and state
Jesus is my gardener
Sweet irony, indeed
Loved "Where the gospel meets real life... your neighbors' issue is your issue." Something to think about is voting beyond what's in your best interest - when Collin shared the voting scenario I had never thought of it like that before. Definitely asking a new set of questions ❤
Yes, just because you can doesn't mean you should. Also, looking honestly at ones own motives so often we focus more on what we can justify/get away with/how close to line can we be rather than how can I love well? To love as Jesus did equals sacrifice - looking to the interest of others over your own (Philippians 2:4) maybe that means practicing restraint in our words rather than focusing on what we feel entitled to.
I love Antwuan's timing challenges... But seriously, he is spot on with the issue of Christian's thinking that angry/negative comments on social media are somehow a witness for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
First, there is 1st Corinthians 10:23 - ‘“All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.’ So, just because you can say/do something doesn’t mean you should say/do that thing. Second, I would wonder in what context was that person raised, or what was their experience growing up? If they are 1/4 ______, did they experience life as _________? If not, do they really understand what saying that word or phrase means to people who have? Do they want to say it to sound cool, or do they truly identify with people who have? It seems presumptuous and insulting. Thoughts?
Good Questions to think about - thanks for sharing ❤
very thought provoking, and really revealing the Heart of Jehovah, He is LOVE, he prefers to redeem and recover rather than neglect and destroy.
I love this taxonomy! This has been extremely helpful already in my engagement with people!
That’s a fact
As thoughtful and inspiring as ever. Good to see you guys! Keep going!
Great discussion

46:59 The interesting thing about the examples of Joseph, Daniel, and Esther is that they did not seek out those political positions. Joseph was sold into slavery, Daniel was a captive in exile, and Esther was essentially kidnapped into the King's harem. All of them were in powerless positions when they started. Their faithfulness to God's commands is what drew attention to them, not their own strategies to gain favor or use power for good. Sometimes, it was positive attention, and other times, they landed in dangerous situations. They risked their status and lives. They did not sacrifice truth or integrity to maintain their positions so they could continue to have influence. God used them as they were; it was from the bottom up, not the top down. I think it's dangerous when Christians think they need political power to bring change. If we actually loved people well, that would be its own kind of influence. Jesus was establishing a way outside of the Roman empire, outside of the current religious thoughts and practices- his plan did not require political or religious influence. After all, He started with the outcasts.
Excited for the new series 🙌🏾
