On a lot of issues, including this one, there isn't necessarily a homogeneous Islamic view. Muslims don't always agree on our interpretations of the Qur'an and hadith, and some folks disagree about the importance placed on hadith as opposed to the Qur'an. As far as I know there is no specific prohibition on depicting human figures or any sentient figures within the Qur'an, but some people interpret the prohibition on idolatry in this way, partly based on hadith. Some religious scholars and judges support this ruling and some don't, and so many Muslims play and make games, including hijabis. - Sara

​Cheers Sara, people are varied. I grew up in the English countryside in an area 97% white. I'm starting to meet Muslims regularly since the Palestine meetings.I'm curious but don't want to take up excessive space there, by asking things a child would.

@@davyhotch Questions asked in good faith always welcome here, the point of the channel is to learn and to educate each other! The golden rule is usually just to avoid making assumptions about people, or catching yourself unconsciously thinking that a group of people have a homogeneous view on any issue. You'll definitely meet Muslims with different views to mine but here I try to promote an inclusive, politically engaged Islam (Inclusive Mosque is a great organisation to check out to learn more about that).
