    Hi, I need some help with the actual connection schematic now that I believe what I want is possible. I have a Marantz SR 8015. Currently only 11.1 channels are amplified. I have 13.1 system setup where the front speakers (Klipsch FA-280) are connected but the Front High channels are not powered. I also, have an old Onkyo TX-SR506. I believe I want to run the Mid & Rear surround speakers and the Front High speakers (these specifically because of the low power requirements) by using the Onkyo TX-SR506, but not sure how to do it. Can anyone please give me an advice.

    • @thepefflyranch
      @thepefflyranch 9 дней назад

      @@galrubin I believe you could only run one set (left and right) or 2 channels into another receiver to get amplification through it. The reason is that you have to run the prepouts from the marantz as an input to the secondary receiver and the only options I know of for RCA inputs for a L/R set will be 2 channels (L/R). For instance the aux input or phono input or cd player input, those would all be RCA 2 channel inputs that you would set your receiver to use to amplify. I don’t think there is any way to have 4 input channels this way. Does this make sense? I’m not sure if I am explaining that well. But you can definitely do 2 channels of amplification how I explain in my video and in your case go from 11.2 to 13.2! Good luck and enjoy!

    • @galrubin
      @galrubin 4 дня назад

      Your speaker outputs, to include preouts, use an analog signal at this point. This is the final stage which comes after digital encoding or processing is completed. So RCA for preouts is fine and will result in the same signal you get with your speaker wires going to your speakers.

The receivers we are using are capable of 11.2 channel processing so you are able to run full 11 channels with the addition of a 2 ch amp. This is only bc the receivers we are using only amplify 9 channels so in order to get the last two you have to have an external amp or receiver.

    I probably did this much more expensively, but still only have a 7.2.2 because of room configuration (no rear heights....yet). A couple weeks ago, I added an 11-channel amp (Tonewinner AD-8300PA) and put my X4700 in full pre-out mode, using the AVR essentially as a pre-pro. I get better sound out of the LCR because of higher power and, unless it's my imagination, get a better soundstage, as far as channel separation.
