NV3500 Swapped Dodge Durango Clutch Hydraulics Easy Fix!
This in fact worked! The Rango was experiencing random intermittent clutch issues suddenly to include difficulty putting into gear at a stop, difficulty shifting gears, vehicle moving forward when waiting at traffic lights with clutch pedal fully pushed in. In short, clutch was not fully disengaging and this easy fix took care of it! If you’re experiencing similar symptoms, give this a try if you have any hydraulic clutch equipped vehicle, especially if its been a long time since the oil was replaced in the clutch hydraulics!

5 speed swapped Dodge Durango: an introduction to my daily driver.
Просмотров 2205 месяцев назад
It started as a conversation several years ago with my friend, “you know what would be cool? A Durango with a 5 speed in it.” My pal started sending me listings for cheap Durangos almost immediately and after some time, a new daily was born. Hope you guys like!
Matt’s Auto & Diesel LLC: First video!

See what’s going on today at Matt’s Auto & Diesel in my first video ever!
Just out of curiosity, where'd you aquire that topside creeper? Looking to upgrade the one in my shop and like the leg support.
I purchased it from redline engineering a number of years ago. It was quite an investment, even at the time, but much like you, I justified the purchase for the sake of leg support. I’ve put hours on the more affordable ones that don’t support your legs in parallel to your body like this one, there is no comparison for comfort.
Didn't I give you some part numbers for the hydroboost conversion several years ago? That truck and 4x4 conversion looks kinda familiar.
Yessir, you most certainly did! And the Bosch Hydromax conversion is still functioning perfectly 6 or so years later! Have not had a single issue ever since and truck will straight up stop on a dime!
@MattsAutoDiesel great to hear that! I'm happy to see that the truck is performing the way you want it to. It definitely looks sharp with a service body and the 4x4 conversion done on it. I'm looking forward to seeing what else comes up on your channel!
@@WesleyJohnsonMIthanks! I started the whole RUclips thing over the summer while business was kind of slow but haven’t had any time to devote to it for months, business has been STACKED. Sure hope to slow up a little this winter and put some more time into content though, it’s kinda fun 😊
@MattsAutoDiesel it is fun & can be rewarding. I like the fact that I'm into old & outdated things and can potentially help others. I started mine several years ago, but don't post as often as I should. My day job gets in the way of it. Best of luck to you!
I think mine has this problem, is this common for this engine? Thanks for the video!
Very common indeed!
What should this job cost to have done by a diesel shop?
What a nice truck.
Sumbish JIGGLIN on them there bias plies. Good stuff hoss.
I think those old gas Ford engines still sound nice, miss the sound of those old gas engines, whether it's the GMC V-6, Chevy big blocks, either W sieres or Mark,Ford, Dodge or IHC gas miss them all.
Beautiful truck well done HOSS
Back when ford was tough.
you can make a small camp stove or smoker out of those 134a cans
That is as manly as it gets! someday i will somehow get my hands on an 1959 f500 dump truck . thats what my dad used for concrete and roofing jobs when i was a kid . i almost fell out of the passenger side when he was making a left turn coming from the rock quarry with it once - great memories!
Nice truck
how many feet to the gallon do you get?
Yes.
Can you still get tires like that and where?...
I’m sure you can definitely still get them at a surplus auction or something..I wouldn’t recommend it LOL they ride absolutely terrible but get an A+ in the “looks cool” department! Mine were apart of 10 brand new ones I got off of some guy on eBay 9 or 10 years ago now. Try searching 9.00x20 NDT tires.
This old truck has parkinson's the way it shakes haha. Definitely showing its age.
We’re two of a kind LOL
God is up there smiling at you, standing next to henry ford
Real life nothing. 👎🏼
Matt thanks!!!! Everyone else pulls the radiator and dismantled the front end. I like your way. Awesome job!!!
I’ve gat a 85 f 800 370 4 valve and she is gutles I want to do a diesel swap to it make it better lol 5 gallon to the mile when moving equipment lol
About the same here, my friend! Ol’ gal gets about 4 mpg empty or dragging 20k. At least she’s predictable in that regard 😂
My wife is much smarter than me, im just a redneck mechanic/machinist, and shes a computer programmer. I met her at a party, we were playing scrabble and i used the word "naily" and she was having none of it, so i showed her on the state of Oregon website how it was illegal to haul naily wood in a truck bed unless it was covered, and thats why i always get a warm fuzzy feeling going to the scrap yard. We are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary end of September. (All joking aside if you are even a slightly nerdy guy, do yourself a solid, and hook up with someone who is nerdier than you. I watched my mom hassle and henpeck my sweet nerdy dad my whole life, and wouldnt wish that on anyone. But if your old lady is nerdier than you, its just adorable) as an added perk, if you get disabled at 26 with ms like me, if your wife is nerdy, you have a sugar momma, and so even though i cant work a fulltime job, i can still have the level of broken tractors and motorcycles in my yard, to which i have become accustomed, lol.
Just curious… are you Double Clutching between shifts? Sometimes those old manuals like the extra attention in their “nethers”.🤷
Sometimes lol. I don’t drive it often enough to figure out exactly what it prefers but it seems to like being floated into most of the gears. I need to get the 2 speed motor functional in the rear end to take advantage of the available ratios because the gas job needs all the help it can get 🥲
Ack! How cool!?
Now that's a truck
Seatbelts? We don't need no seatbelts where we're going...
nice truck bud, sounds really good
I'm glad somone else plays snowrunner, haha!
haha..I’ll tell you a secret..I have never in fact played snow runner in my life but my good buddy tells me about the game all the time and I hope to someday 🤣
Sweet F500 man!!
Those old fords are the best looking ones for me
I think what's really cool is they used the same basic dash on the medium duty F series from 67 to 79.
I can't wait to hear this thing scream like a Jimmy
nice durango..if it were mine it would def have some mud on it... well done sir
That is the best sounding exhaust I have ever heard.
That is a great looking rig! Awesome stuff! I just subbed! 👍 🚜🚚
Great channel and what a beautiful old Ford!
The butane tanks make great rocket stoves and barbecues. They last forever!
Love to see a little off road demo with the Ford.
Very nice find.
Cool truck
Not a dodge guy but love those old B series vans!
Lol that rtv makes it for a ton od different brands thats no really mac rtv
If you could get a whiff of that stuff, you would undeniably agree that there is not one sealant anywhere that smells that way lol. There is no doubt something about it, and anybody who’s used it will agree. I’m not gonna say what it smells like, as there may be children watching 😅 but it is definitely my preferred choice for sealant. To each their own though, whatever keeps the oil in is a success in my book!
What kind of drive train is in that truck
For now, has a 330 cube gas job with a 391 4 barrel manifold. Clark 5 speed, Rockwell T-226 2 speed part time transfer case, Rockwell FDS-75 front end with manual locking hubs, Rockwell RS21230 2 speed rear with 4.88 high side/6.80 low (low side matches front end ratio). 2 speed as you can see is not yet functional lol.
@@MattsAutoDiesel very nice truck would be a good 12v ppump nv5600 swap I bet a thing would be a monster
Thanks! Although I love me an ol’ 12 valve, I’ve got a 6V53 Detroit Diesel sitting in the shop that’s destined to live in this truck VERY SOON..because for some reason I just can’t build things of my own that seem sensible or common 😂
@@antoniocrisafulli4177 Ughh...this truck deserves something bigger and better than your run of the mill 12V swap. And a pickup truck transmission...no!
i dont think the original owners had what you have ....
aww. thanks for your view though! 😉
@@MattsAutoDieselI’m 85% sure the dude was just asking what all you’ve done to the truck. I could be wrong tho. I’m an a hole and know one when I see ‘em, your fashions of speech only seal the deal.
I mean the old brute does indeed have exhaust leaks, does not always run on all cylinders, and it’s more a matter of opinion if it sounds good but I love the big dumb thing anyway so possible sarcasm is a threat over here 😅
its so nice to drive an old truck that sounds good.... no exhaust leaks .. engine running all cylinders .....
The in cab shots are killer
Saturday morning and keep making these videos. Matt !!!
Van Content📈
What's the approximate cost for doing that job
Feel your pain
Oh damn this channels not that old. Still im very sure youl blow up may take a week or two but yeah ive seen it a few times before. Love the channel n vids
Thanks a bunch! Yes, absolute novice here! Glad you like the content, more to come!
Psa, your channel is about to explode with popularity. My best exuse not to end up shadow banned and empty handed a few weeks to months from now. Try and keep up then form a posting plan to upkeep your channel and make allll the bread From youtube. Why i say that is alot od tube depends blow up then fall off bc they dont keep up with subscribers and the underlinings of youtubes “for you”. Cant think of a name but how they decide if your popular and put your videos on top
Sure appreciate that bit of advice! Humbly just here for a little fun and sharing with like minds, but I suppose we will see where the algorithms take us 🙂
I would definitely enjoy seeing a 6v53 swap into the old Ford.
Stay tuned!
