I’m actually getting ready to go hit up some canals and see what I can catch and then maybe hit a couple ponds for some bass and try not to get caught. I saw about 5 of those big lizards at frigates yesterday. It’s only a matter of time before they are all over here.

@@Coyote724 No I’ve never used them I do all my hunting on my own. Definitely be a way to get that hog in the freezer though. I will look them up.

I just did some research on them and it sounds like a great time. $250.00 that’s not bad at all for the amount of meat your going to get and the amount of fun you’ll have. Sounds like a cool group of people run it.

@@ToniAtwood thank you! You definitely have to get out there and start scouting. I’m fortunate enough to have some private land to hunt on but I love the chase of those hogs on public land. I will spend alot of time out on public land just slow walking listening and looking for well traveled hog trails. I will creep back those hog trails sometimes for a mile until I find lots of hog poop. Once you find that poop area the hogs are usually bedded within 40 yards of their bathroom. They don’t poop where they sleep. That’s one tip I can give you for hunting public land. The area they are going to be in is going to be very thick and you’ll probably have to have mud boots to get into the dry spot there sleeping at.

It looks very promising this year. I have been hunting this particular area for a few years. It’s close in the woods within 1/2 mile so I won’t have a heat stroke walking in. The place I really would like to scout is 4.6 miles in from this spot but I’m going to have to wait until colder rifle season to get in there. Fingers crossed this spot will produce this archery season.

Thank you. I use whatever shrimp they have available at the bait shop some are white some have more of a red tint. I try to hook it as close the the horn in the front of the head as possible depending on hook size. I typically run 1/0 to 2/0 Owner hooks for live shrimp. That dark spot in the shrimp is the brain so you want to go in front or behind it so you don’t kill the shrimp. Sometimes I hook the shrimp in the tail and it will swim away from you and go under mangrove’s and low docks. If I’m going to do a slow retrieve I’ll hook in the head to give a much more realistic swimming action. Another thing is to break the shrimps horn off so it doesn’t block the fishes mouth from the hook. Thanks for watching and replying I hope this helps you out.

Man I’m telling you it all seemed to go wrong that day. I just ordered a bunch of stuff to do all my maintenance on my motor new fuel filter new plug wires new plugs gonna do my lower unit oil I figured it’s time to make sure everything is working 100% out there.

@@centralfloridafisherman9931 Thanks, i spoke too soon. I just check a sneak peak picture sent by the shop (currently re-power mine), and the current model of inline-4 f150 has the same engine drain hole as the f175, f200 since they share the same powerhead.

Thank you. It was a lady in grant and I have the whole video on a memory card. I could put her on blast but I don’t want to put any negative energy into my videos. Mostly everyone I meet on the river are amazing people but there are a few that want to be entitled. I will definitely fish her dock again I saw some monster sheepshead there.

Absolutely that tackle gets to expensive to have the water lay in there and rust everything up.

Very nice that’s a great place to be for fishing. Now you need to get yourself a boat for sure. Tons of backwater and docks down there that hold massive snook and lots of giant mangrove snappers coming out of that area right now. On the weekends you can come up the the islands in grant or the sandbar at Sebastian. That’s where all of us locals hand out and enjoy a cocktail and talk fishing and boating. I constantly have dolphins try to follow my boat around. I most of the time have to leave spots because of the dolphins. There’s one dolphin in particular that comes around and if you don’t give it a fish which I never do it will go busting through the area your fishing and scare all the fish away.

The snappers are definitely showing up. That guy is definitely not going to give up his spot those are some big snappers. Im hoping to find some that big this year. I have been seeing a few around the area. It’s crazy how many of them there are in Port St. Lucie. They are beautiful lizards but I know they come with consequences. Down there you don’t see any of the smaller lizards or many small birds. It’s only a matter of time until we have them everywhere.

I’m super excited to get this little boat in the canals and start playing but I need to get a lot done before that happens. I think I would rather deal with the hurricanes than tornadoes. I couldn’t imagine living where those giant one come across the plains. You need to get out in the river it’s looking amazing lots of tarpon and big snapper around the docks.

Very nice I’m excited to get fishing on this little boat. Thanks for the input I will definitely look into sealing all the seams so I don’t have to deal with any leaks in the near future. I am also going to put a full sea dek floor in the bottom and a small deck on the front. I was wondering how it would handle boat wake but now I’m even more excited to get it built. @@centralfloridafisherman9931 Yeah man! No problem. The stuff is called 3M 5200 marine adhesive. It takes 7 days to dry but it dries rock hard. I highly recommend it to seal anything above or under water! I’m in the process of fabricating and building a front deck for mine too, mostly for storage and something to stand on because there’s not much other storage area on these small boats. Yea I’m super excited to get that little boat finished and get to fishing on it. Those tornadoes are no joke it definitely did some damage in town. I’m just glad it went over my house before touching down. Did you go metal or shingles on your new roof? I went metal on my last roof a few years ago.

@centralfloridafisherman9931 I went back to shingles because my wife thought it would be very noisy. The former roof was shingles and it was 22 years old.

Good deal it’s a really great place to live. There are a lot of great places to fish here and a large variety of species. I would say your best bait to start with is live shrimp or a decent paddle tail. I would definitely recommend getting a boat even a Jon boat will get you out and exploring and that’s the key to catching fish around here. I found the best most productive way is off the causeway bridges at night with a flashlight. All of them will produce crabs. Also invest in some crab pots to put out during the day. 192 causeway is a good place to start.
