Просмотров 2692 года назад
Lower shaft on this rudder had some wicked electrolysis going on with it and needed replaced. Cut it out with a good old wafer wheel & made a new one. Showed some interested young lad the basics of the good old heliarc rig. Enjoy watching this sick content.
Select 730 Dual Shield .052 3G Structural Weld w/ Preheat
Просмотров 1882 года назад
3/8" groove weld with 3/8" root opening. Six individual stringers pushed uphill with no oscillation. Filler metal is Select Arc / Select 730 .052 size with 75/25 mix. Great bead appearance and user friendly. These were windy conditions and thats why you'll see me magnetizing a piece of flashing below the weld; to stop the vert up draft from blowing the shielding gas away. WFS = 245-285.
Tig welding 304 stainless 4" tri clamp fitting in ABS brewing fermenter

The top domes in these ABS vessels & approx 1/8" 304 stainless. Carbide tipped 4" diablo hole saw did the trick with some lube & time. Made an envelope for the argon back purge on the inside of the vessel with some aluminum foil & foil tape. Proceeded to weld the inside from the outside. Any questions on how to do this or if you want me to do sanitary stainless steel welding for you feel free t...

Double welding big-inch pipe

Back welding or double welding the inside of this waterline. its a little gapped out at the bottom, so at the beginning you can see me pump some low-hy to it, then switch over to dual shield. Outershield 71-Elite w/ 75/25 shielding gas. Look how steady that golden arm is.

Welding 48" Water Line with Innershield NR-233, Carrying 3 Multiple-Pass Fillets at Once
Просмотров 3322 года назад
A friend and I welding up this big inch pipe. The rings and flanges are meant to tie the new fitting into the old line. Circa 1895 with a riveted joint, the welded flanges help match up a new perfect fitting to the old not so perfect out of round line. Here at this end of the fitting, you can see us carry 3 separate 7/16" fillets from 6 o-clock to 12 o-clock all at the same time. Pushing 1/16" ...

Just a couple of bad asses pumping some wire. 1/16" Innershield NR-233 with LN-25 wire feeders.
Hi. How do you drill a hole if it is double jacked tank?
it was single wall
Hellow sir how are good job sir
Die grinder,,,,no safety glasses. Safety violation. Don’t show these videos, it sets a bad example
Cry me a river bitch
I wanna see the weld
I’ll find u a pic
What kind of lube did you use? Looks almost like a paste which is perfect for the job you were doing. I’ve always used oil based and they’re so messy. Also curious of the two different grit you used to do the final touch up. Great work!
Just drill wax. You can buy it anywhere. It’s still a little messy but at least not running all over the place. And it catches shavings too. Can’t remember grit exactly, but it never hurts to finish with 120. And if you’re going for even smoother or shinier get what’s called a 3M unitized disc
Very nice work. Challenging purge situation. Was this a Sanitary weld? I thought filler wasn’t allowed for sanitary welds.
Sanitary enough for chinese vessels
It's not sanitary if your using filler sanitary is all fusion
Llevo 25 años de ser soldador argonero y soldador orbital
Estás mal amigo el inserto tiene. Que ir a nivel… aunque uses un flexible se ve mal.
Can't believe that started that quick
Tank & fitting same thickness?
TBH I can't remember exact thicknesses but no, the tank was thicker.. Tank was approx 1/8" wall and those chinese fittings are thin wall asf. All about electrode angle as to not booger up the inside of the fitting. Wash into it from the tank which is a much more forgiving with heat.
Really 304?? Or 304L? Big difference about welding them 😉
Do you run Nr 203?
NR 233 usually but I think I was actually running dual shield in this vid
@@nfkweld I was wondering if you have some good settings for Nr 203 nickel intersheild. It's kicking my butt. Wants to dough up and fall out
@@travisjones9508 I’m my experience when innershield is doing that it’s usually not hot enough. Go up on the wire speed and see if it helps. It loves to be hammered in. And electrode angle is key. On vertical up you gotta be pointing strait in or at a downward angle, against all muscle memory of ever other rod you’ve ever run.
@@nfkweld thank you very much, I will give it a shot and get it right. It's a learning curve for sure
This is how super method labs are made.
Assuming this was a single contract job, what was the cost for this one-off fitting weldment? Quality can be seen here, nicely done.
Hmm uh it was a few hundred bucks
Yeah never know exactly how to price those jobs. Good job though.
@@jt6215 thanks
You made that look easy.
Amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Are you using scratch start?
Lift arc
I like seeing videos like this. Keep em coming lol
no respiratirsvlads ?
Awesome work.
Thanks! I kept dipping the tungsten & had to keep stopping to sharpen LOL
That top dome was some heavy wall too. It was remarkable running a 4" bi-metal hole saw through that. Can't find them that big carbide tipped.
@@nfkweld what amperage we're you running? Got any picks of the backside? Learning stainless, thanks!
@@arinbrown4605 amps like 45-75 on the thin stainless
You’re flooding the chamber with Argon?
Yeah I got a cardboard food tray duct taped to the inside of the vessel so I was only purging a small area.
@@nfkweld great idea. Are you breaking down the ID too?
@@waltoglesby3936 Oh yeah. It may have even had a lump or two in it where I got a little hot, thats why Im running the flap wheel in it towards the end just to smooth & flatten everything out. Key to any of that stuff is just to remember Argon is heavier than air.
@@nfkweld true that. I like that tin foil truck to on your last video
@@waltoglesby3936 Thanks. There's not enough videos on here of guys doing this stuff. A lot of breweries out there & plenty of unique scenarios to come up with some trick.
