Love this game still. I can play it on my Steam Deck as I can easily map the trackpad to be mouse & click; as well as map other keys or create a virtual radial menu etc. But I do wish the game actually had controller support.

Okay, so I remember this game for the ridiculous glitches it had, the stripping down of rare resources to only Crystals, the fact that its town screens and gameplay threw away everything that made Heroes V awesome, and artwork and soundtrack so beautiful it almost made me cry. Oh, and also making a surprising amount of the unit roster basically "Beautiful Fantasy Women." One of which reminded me of my Wife. Guess which one! Edit: also, if you could tell me how you got this game to actually work, that'd be appreciated. I haven't been able to open it on my machine for years despite owning it!

yo nice to see this game. sadly its hard for me to play myself, since the screen dimms randomly when loading into battles or maps. some maps are unloadable, always completely dark and unplayable

Hi, you should do the battles in real time (much more fun and realistic) instead of round by round... I did play to arcanum long time ago and did several independent modul at this time... A great game at that time and which still has a fan club today... especially because of the story, the richness of the dialogues, its non-linear scenari and its steam punk universe. I used to play elves characters with as many companions as possible !

Oh the fun I had with half-ogre characters. I actually had a "mad doctor" one who used electricity, chemistry, therapeutics and batshit insanity, but my favourite was probably "ogre mage" who fought only with his fists like in Warcraft 2 with a plethora of buffs.
