A poorly designed deck. They were a warranty nightmare for Pioneer. They had to make 3 revisions of the mechanism to get it right and even then everyone moved on to a better deck

A reference cassette deck. I hadn't money in that time to buy one. Now 30 years later I could buy one but nobody fix them and there's no spare parts It's a shame. I miss the 80's and 90's. High Fidelity and good music.

If engaged, please turn off the MPX filter, as it cuts off high freq. Used for some radio recordings, so no need at all for other recordings. Ah! On a bigger picture I noticed it's thankfully off ;) Nice deck. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.

How do you search for songs ? Does it have blank/ song search ?

threw one of these in the bin today, had it repaired twice, piece of rubbish. my second nak to be binned. over priced over estimated.

So whats the real difference betwen the S model and a non S (normal B215 model) other than the front panel colour and the butons form factor ?

Why does it sound so bad?

The best deck i ever had. At that time 2000 guilders to pay for.

Hey I recently bought a used 505E for 400€ and had it serviced replaced the idler wheel and bands and it plays great. I already have the 202 which is as good, but the 505 is a little more sensitive, with knobs instead of slides and maybe a few more things, but basically the same player. Although the 505 wasn’t working when I got it so I didn’t know what defects it had aside from the auto reverse. Now that I have it and it seems, compared to the 202 that the buttons are not tight. Like pushing auto reverse or tape out, they wiggle from side to side. The power on switch too. Is this normal or didn’t the Tech fasten them tight enough? I also noticed by recording that the Meters move indicating that the signal is being received but on play back there’s a hint of the recording but the old music is still heard. Could it be that the eraser head is damaged or dirty? I have little confidence in this Tech guy. After the service the player was as dirty as before. He didn’t spray anything out or even cleaning the buttons was too much trouble. All he had to do is put them in some warm water with dishwashing liquid. Takes the finger grease and dirt away. Which is easy since the front panel and the insides are already exposed. Hope you can help. I’m thinking of selling the 505 because the 202 sounds as good. But it has to be working right or that’s a ripoff, and that’s not fair.

how come my unit not automatic rewind after calibrate and hit rest button? please tell us what button need to turn off or turn on, so after hit reset the tape automatic rewind. thank you

Professional decks like Revox B215, Tandberg 3014A, Marantz SD9000, etc. don't use doors to ensure tape alignment is not affected. If you open and close that door 40 times with same tape, you'll see the azimuth adjustment will be required.

I bought this cassette in 1982 ive had it ever since I would like to sell it if anybody would be interested.

I just recently inherited a CT-9R from my aunt and I'm trying to set it up. I can't get it to play. Anytime I push play, it just starts fast forwarding or rewinding the cassette. the only thing that looks a little damaged on it is the eject mechanism, which I don't think would effect playback. Any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong?

one of the most ergonomically well designed decks ever. The entire cassette is visible (not like later designs) and controls are laid out logically. I love it!

after this tape it was quite finished and the industry declined in quality of tape decks.
