The English lyrics may be accurate for the English version of the Musical but it definitely misses the depth for the German lyrics. 06:35 "You've turned the other way but only for SHOW (superficially). You want to be faithful to him but invite ME. EVEN in his arms you smile at me and where this will lead is KNOWN to you as well." Would be a closer translation but still not enough. Death seems to be obsessed to compare himself to her husband as superior. Convinced she is as obsessed with Death as he is with her. He WILL have the last dance. But he sounds desperate to prove her feelings for him to her. The underlined words gives it a different feel.

This song even is part of that thread - the sycamore and willow have strong theological symbolic meaning
