In cases like this, the only way you can speed up the big canvases are ink engines and Minions. So your Advanced Minions and Regular Minions could have gone on the Big Canvases, and could have sped up the rate of making knights.
This is possible but you have to be lucky with perks. You need to get ones that buff the basic unit. Like +1 damage for punch type, increase hp of punch type etc
could be doable with the right relics though, if you got the dmg up to 4 and fire attack,. nice video

41:30 I actually just left a comment on (what I now realize is much later...) your other video about this happening to me when I tried to get sage. No black ink, tough, try again. It's my least favorite part of the game, honestly.
You'd be surprised, with the statement you made at the beginning of the video. I just came off the back of an attempt to get the Sage. It went really well! Until it didn't. Turns out you need 3/4 colors of ink, and the Black I needed to make Hammers didn't spawn anywhere. To succeed at damageless, you just need a really solid run and to avoid certain mini-bosses, depending on your build. You can focus on just spamming out a ton of bodies, a Unit, Shield, Hero build will go crazy and has compairitively light requirements. 1 of each Motiff, semi-decent factory planning. Easy-peasy. I think the highest tier on that is technically a C. And you don't even NEED to have the shield guys. A lot of the S units need EXTREMELY specific map layouts and resources, not to mention an ideal setup to realistically squeeze everybody into proper position.
Heroes are pretty amazing, but I feel like they're hard to rely on because you can get screwed by a hero deciding to fire in the opposite direction And yeah, nothing more frustrating than planning a build and then finding out that there's no black ink literally anywhere... I do wish the dye converter and the shape converter research were both available at the same time, even if it cost red research or something expensive.
Fun challenges. Only 1 spell is difficult. So far i got a build with 2 spells. Tier 2 lightning and tier 3 lightning. So it's still a single tree.

I got it by doing nothing but peasants the eventually upgraded to the hero tech. On ascension 1.

Hey, loving the gameplay! Here’s a quick tip, When unlocking of the corner scrolls (eg top right), you will unlock all adjacent scrolls too (eg middle right). That way, you get two scroll pieces in one event!

Oh hell yeah, my kind of guy.
I went from seeing organized people who manage production lines that allow savings to this, it is like a mental disorder (in the sense that they do not put an order of ideas, but rather, it is like what came out even though it went wrong).
This game is facinating, and I love watching it. It's really intemresting seeing the diffrent (read:better) ways you make your factory compared to mine. I've learned a lot about ideal layouts from you. It's also nice to see another appreceator of the mini splitter upgrades. I never get the big multi-splitters, so I've had a deep appreceation for the cross-conveyer and mini joiner/splitters, especilly with the price reductions. Lets you get away with so much shennanigans.

Why did you stop taking mana with the first level ups? Isn’t it so much better since you get production lines up much faster and just get more levels in the long run?
Not sure which round you're looking at specifically but in general if I see 2 mana nodes on the map that I'm gonna take, I'll focus on shapes otherwise I'll have too much mana and not enough shapes.
It looks like you did a lot better with spears and regular guys instead of the shield guys. You said it a few times, but kept trying to make the shield guys work.

Hey! Love your vids! Can you do a 1 hero challenge? For example when you unlock salamander, you stop producing fairies and only produce salamander, and then when you unlock wyvern you only produce wyverns, would be cool to see a battle with only top tier units! Love your vids!

Short answer.... yes
You could use a basic blue splitter with a big divider to feed 4 lanes from the same input
Loving the minion factory videos! However Every time you put a joiner directly in front of a splitter, I die a little inside.
Im sure you have figured it out by now but snack tables connect ONLY to the closest snack storage jar thingy (dont remember name) and will ONLY try and get snacks from that.
Your copy machines arent providing actual units without the colour copier.

@@artascian EDIT: The original commenter is wrong! I watched your first dragon copy close, the first time you got a dragon, it went straight to 2. Copies DO count for Army size. I think the trick is copies can't be copied unless they're color.

Rock only is weak but it is still a defender. I haven't tried maxing rocks but the next tier onwards, each of those tiers i am certain you can max out for win

For the copier i learned the default copier creates 1 BW copy of whatever you put in and that only counts for exp. If you make it a colour copier then it also counts for anything else incl your army counts
Ohhh is that what the color copy upgrade does? I wish the game would explain this stuff better...
@artascian It used to count for both back in the demo. They changed it for the initial early access release. That is when they added the colour copier thing. Took me a bit to figure that out. For copier, im usually cycling units in a loop. You cannot copy BW units, only the colour units, so that is one way to identify this change

It can't be helped, levelling up shapes is needed to get the full benefit from advanced canvases.

Hey thanks for playing and reviewing Barricade! You had the right idea trying to Barricade, you just forgot to nail the props, they take much less damage while nailed. You still did a good job getting as far as you did with just the pistol!

hey! Endless Tactics dev here, glad you took your time to test it out! Wrote down some feedback I've got from your playthrough and am already working on addressing it, mostly beginner-UX and UI related. But yeah, overall the gameplay loop consists of gradually unlocking new features (akin to survivors-like games), tools and upgrades (which can also increase difficulty in trade of bonus currency, the "red ones", aka Corrupted Upgrades), then progressing through the different difficulties (RISKS) and Operations (tho for the free demo only Operation 1 is available)... Artifacts are also a big part of the "endgame" but they're also restricted to the full game (+ had their test phase sorted out already)... Coming out soon enough, as soon as the finalized assets are in and the "boring" technical stuff is done: balance, finalized UI and gamepad support. Anyway, thanks for video as its always pretty valuable for the dev process, and feel free to leave other thoughts about it if any. edit: Undo-move and a bunch of other QOL (+ removed the very old prompt to open the feedback forms in browser, which Ive had totally forgotten abt) were just implemented pretty much right after you played the game btw lol - due to previous user feedback
Thank you for the demo! I liked it 👍, looking forward to seeing more! As far as thoughts go, I remember being very fuzzy about the enemies and what they're tactically capable of. It seems like there's a variety and they have different strengths/weaknesses (IIRC there was an anti melee creature), but it wasn't apparent to me how I would have found this info out outside of witnessing them destroy my units. I remember not knowing how far enemies can move specifically, no idea where it was safe to put units, which got them killed sometimes.
@@artascian well, abt that you can just click on the enemies to see hahah. it displays both moves and damage w all pre-calculations (right click left click, which is listed under the controls section) btw Ive released a patch addressing basically every issue i could spot on your playthrough, and then another one now regarding another playthrough which has just popped up - similar issues; tho I believe most of them are fixed now (hopefully)
