SpydaBot with Thermal Camera while driving on rough road - can it handle it?
Просмотров 60811 месяцев назад
Can SpydaBot handle rough terrain? We made a video to test it. (Please excuse the amateur videography. The filming skill was not the point of the video). We film during the day to capture the best footage possible. It was near impossible to get footage in the dark. This video was made to demonstrate that the SpydaBot can handle rough roads and show that the thermal can still spot animals, even ...
Any weight added to the barrel will affect the harmonics of the barrel which will change the point of impact and most likely the size of the group
Very excited for this mount! It looks awesome!
Where did you get your bolt knob from thanks
Same question I have.
Great video. I need to get one
Does the cup pressure effect the ceiling or door panel?
I own the exact kimber thats in this video, i see a lot of videos about how it opens up to 5 moa after 3 rounds , i haven't seen that
As a fox therian, i am terrified
Awesome advice, thought I needed red but I can use my green I've already got on the front of my bow. Thanks
Stopped at 2:38 because the music is very distracting. If you haven't already I would suggest eliminating the music while you are talking like most RUclipsrs do.

You remind me of Bubba J.
They sell that in the US?
Good test. Glad to see you are using a nice accurate hunting rifle (Tikka T3). Generally if your barrel is freefloating, you should be able to put those bullets in the same spot, regardless of what rest you use. If that stock touches the barrel, all bets are off, your POI will change. This is something a lot of guys just don't get. Just like you represented when you rested the barrel on the rest. Good video mate. Keep them coming.
Good video. Straight to the point. No bullshiting or or unnecessary talking.
Good information! Nice rifle, nice shooting & we all have shots we don’t want to talk about.
try that test with a 30-06 or a win mag.
Very interesting Information I have a 22” Axis ll Precision W/ the MDT chassis Fac..223 I’m trying to figure it out.I Run it hot Target shooting 1” pasters use it for plinking Starts out decent then tightens up then opens up then back tight alternating basically Running hot overall pretty good groups.Recently removed muzzle brake to run barrel cleaner Have been running bore snake after each session Not sure if that’s way to go.🤔
Metallurgy in the diverse metals used in barrel construction.
I find the cheaper stocks can have big issues with flex when using a bipod. As always a good free floated barrel is a must.
Cheers for the good honest footage it's appreciated
From a practical point of view unless you are planning I engaging multiple enemy with your bolt action rifle in a war scenario how many follow up shots do you really need when hunting. If you do happen to be attacked by multiple adversaries with your rifle most rifles will still shoot minute of human when hot. If a sniper fires more than once he risks his position being located. Don't get me wrong I like accuracy as much as anyone but let's add a bit of practicality to it. I hunt squirrels with a rifle and my rifle is more accurate than I am.
Is this legal? Lol
Are these still available?
Maybe that’s why they liked heavy octagon barrels in the black powder days.
Impressive the stable image while car idling .
Great image quality
So your intended target will just walk up in front of your bench and gun rest?
Great video, I only shoot my springer air rifle but the same lessons probably hold true. Liked and subbed
Those IR torches are way too bulky for shooting out of the window, i ditched mine and went to a thermal scope and it makes everything so much easier
When I zero any rifle I use a bipod on a bench. Rock steady. Once zero is established, practice as you hunt.
Torch... I thought we were going to see a flame thrower
your rest is the most inportant thing next to it is knowing how to hold it . your rest must must be solid with absolutely no movement .those are the secret and how to pull the triger
I love that and I wish to get a contract hunting in the foreign country because my country don't Hunt with this💎💜🧡❣👍
Looks good!
older guns heat much slower than the new stuff have a 1949 marlin ( 336A 30 30) put a box through it and its warm ...... new henry maybe 6 rounds barrel too hot to touch.....
I might add if you are hunting with rifle strapped to back or carring, in hot direct sunlight, it may be like a already hot barrel. Run a successive 6-10 rounds within 90 seconds, wait about the same then try again. One's barrel is like a heat sink. If one has a heat gun, try at different barrel temps for accuracy, 80, 100, 120, etc.. Good info. Most will fall off some after 10-16 rounds but for hunting, like he says, if within 100 meters, it should get the job done.
Another hot light barrel consideration is whether you're using an overbore cartridge like the 243 vs a quarter bore 308.
Can you explain? I’ve never heard of the notion of “over bore“
@@aakashk530 overbore is when a cartridge has more powder than what is appropriate/efficient for a given calibre (eg. 22-250, most of weatherby and nosler cartridges). Barrel burners essentially.
I liked the bit at the end about resting the barrel on anything while shooting.
I think it is very important to spend ample time and rounds at the range practicing shooting with the various positions and supports that one routinely uses in the field when hunting. And to also do so at typical hunting ranges and also at distances well beyond your hunting range limit. I find that practicing shooting targets at 600m really improves ones field shooting skills at 300-400m. I have noticed that shooting steel targets at 500-600m starts to not feel so extreme but when theres a big game animal in the scope, 300-400m feels very far… what’s up with that? Cheers!
Not surprised that a short bipod with no preload and no rear bag would produce less precision. Great video!
Australia only?
Why burn a barrel up at all. A hunting rig shouldn’t need ,ore than 3 maybe 4 shots to anchor game. Here in the states the only time you should be able to shoot high volume is in a prairie Dog town. And you really should take two or three rifles to do any high volume shooting like that.
It's called barrel whip

Smart rest gun tripod in the uk
Hammer forging and button rifling introduces stress into a barrel, a cut rifle barrel does not have this handicap. Of course the others get "stress relieved" at the factory, but I have to wonder if a cut rifle barrel might have an advantage when testing accuracy at temperature extremes?
Ruger 22 magnum all weather. That’s a fine rifle.
Where do I get one?
