Dark Souls Remastered | Artorias Bossfight - Faith Build
Technically a "no healing" fight since I didn't use the Estus Flask. But I had passive regen going, so...
Just one of my favorite bossfights, using my favorite DS1 build.

Dark Souls 2 | Falconer Invasions

A few low level invasions with my falconer build. This is a character I like keeping at low soul memory so I can do coop and invasions during high activity periods, specially during Return to Drangleic events. Our knight of Mirrah tests his mattle against the fearsome dragon Sinh, whom Sir Yorgh failed to slay in ages past. Dark Souls 2 | Sir Alonne Bossfight - Rapier Build

Yet another almost-no-damage bossfight. This time against Sir Alonne. Despite ending much faster, this fight took more tries than the Fume Knight one, likely due to Alonne's faster moveset. My almost-no-damage fight against the Fume Knight. Ironically despite all my time with DS2 this is my first ever rapier build. Now I see what all the fuss is about. Fast attacks, low stamina consumption, high counter damage. The fashion souls is just the cherry on top! Love it
Holy shit this basically is my old ds1 build, so much nostalgia
I believe it was my favorite build as well. Very useful for a new player and super fun to play.
The good old Paladin. Definitely my favorite general build in this game. Is Artorias weak to Occult, or is the Occult Claymore just your main weapon? I'd assume Artorias is weak to Divine instead, but I've never looked into it, and I could see him being weak to Occult.
I feel like he should be weak to Occult, seeing as another of the four knights (Ornstein) definitely is. But given From's tradition of giving dlc bosses high elemental resistances, I doubt it. I just use weapons which scale with faith, and went for the Claymore here since it has some nice poise damage, good for interrupting his self buff.
FYI Sunlight Spear will knock him out of power-up phase, for extra style and Paladin vibe ;) Well played in any case!
I love breaking his poise like that, but this isn't NG+ so no Sunlight Spear for me yet. But we'll get to see some Great Lightning Spear action in upcoming bossfights.
"No one has any enemies."
This guy gets it.
pretty nice video, it's always good to see mid rolls and not-so-popular infusions such as occult getting some action
Thanks! I've never been a fan of the "obligatory fast roll" mindset in DS1. No way I'm passing on so many cool armor sets just so I can get some more I-frames.
Cool fight. Paladin set looks so cool, shame it didnt really make it out of DS1.
Would have been nice to have it in DS3, but alas...
That was maybe the most impressively patient and defence DS1 boss fight I've watch. Excellent, buddy.
Thanks! Artorias used to give me a lot of trouble back when I was new to the game.
I remember helping someone fighitng artorias in ptde some day ago, they used the same armour... Anyway, great fight, good job
Heh. It's not an original fashion souls idea, so I wouldn't be surprised. Thanks!
I’m halfway through university, and this concept makes me think of how seriously everyone takes choosing their undergrad major. Whatever arguments people have for or against their choices, the reality is life is going to be difficult in different ways for everyone anyways-just like a dark souls run
Hence why I believe we should live life however we want. Without ignoring the necessary preparation to face its many hardships, of course. Thank you for sharing. Glad to know the video was helpful!
What armor set is that it looks cool
Paladin set. You can get it in the boss room for Nito if you defeat the Paladin Leeroy phantom in the area before the room with the skeletons. It's heavy so you'll need decent endurance, but it's worth. The shield gives you health regen.
Adding to the above comment, I'm wearing the Paladin chest piece, but also Giants gauntlets and helm, and knight leggings. Cool-looking armor combo which also gives good defense and poise. Depending on what weapons you have you can use the Paladin leggings too.
I like to think of videos from sincere people, such as yourself, as a real life summon signs that I can use to help me fight my inner demons or "bosses". Thanks for your help on this one, I really needed it. \`[T]/ Praise the Sun!
In the words of #1 Sunbro himself: "Anytime you see my brilliantly shinny signature, do not hesitate to call upon me." Glad the video was helpful!
Hey, thanks for your time. It wasn't wasted!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice video.
Thanks!
This is excellent work, and EXACTLY my kind of niche content. I just finished reading Byung-Chul Han's 'The Burnout Society' last month (while playing through DS1, coincidentally), and a lot of what Han has to say about our collectively diminished attention really resonates with what you've shared here. Thanks for the thought-provoking vid!
Great reading and game choices. Thanks a lot!
So why have the shils if you dont use it? Genuine question does it do buffs or anything? I often put the grass crest one on my back for the stanima boost
Hey! The Paladin Shield gives you passive health regeneration. It also stacks with the miracle I used at the start of the video.
I had no problem fighting every boss in the game. But having to kill Artorias and Sif broke my heart. They were innocent victims. And killing the giant for his awesome bow, I still feel bad for that.
I believe he gives you the bow if you talk to him after killing the dragon. Though if you want his armor, there's only one way...
You're a monster.
sabe muito professor !
Muito obrigado!
Well Played
Thanks!
i have over 3 students who cant speak english and this helped me understand their perspective a bit more
fellow teacher, super interested in your perspectives. I also love souls games and feel they really teach patience for the self etc. I dont think i would have gotten this far in the school year without taking time after dinner to just relax
Yes. Realizing the importance of taking time to relax has helped me a lot too. Not to mention all the amazing things we learn when interacting with a good story. Glad I was able to help!
This was a very lovely video, and brought some intriguing ideas to float around in my mind. I feel you may not even realize just how impactful and profound - even if it’s just because of your easy-to-follow speaking cadence - it is to provide this sort of media. Also, great Sen’s Fortress background gameplay :)
Real glad you enjoyed it! Thank you.
The combination of gameplay and telling is great! Especially where you talked about the little resistance, the little things are the things that matter and you fight the Stray Demon, only dealing little bits of damage (resistance against the demon) at a time.
Heh, the bleed procs on the Morning Star did help speed things up a bit. But yes, I like Dark Souls as a background gameplay because of its overall theme of resilience and perseverance. Fighting against things much bigger than ourselves, but eventually coming out on top.
Insane build bro! Todo sucesso do mundo pra você meu rei :D ps: didn't know that shield exist
É uma build bem simples, mas mto boa. Geralmente jogo builds assim na primeira run de qualquer rpg. Sucesso tb. Vlw!

I talk about this often to my clients (psychologist). Apps are vicious and ruthless. Also: Br?
Yes, we need to carefully manage how we interact with those. E sim, brasileiro!
Both food and our leisure are programmed to be like this. The people in charge of this world intend for us to be too tired to think, too worried about not having enough time for ourselves. It is on purpose. We are all trapped in a giant cage being told we are free while indoctrinating and draining us of our will to think and enjoy life. Butt we accept it, as it is easier to, as it is harder to break away from status quo. We are made to not want to think, it makes us more easy to control. A miserable worker is a hard worker.
Sometimes I think it's on purpose, like you've said. Other times I think this is all just the consequence of a society based on misguided and meaningless mass production. It's hard to say. Anyways, thank you for the thought provoking comment.
You should make more of this content. I could listen to it for longer too.
Very happy to hear that. I certainly intend to make more. Thanks!
love you sharing your thoughts and just talking, you have a great voice for everyone to listen, so dont be ashamed of using it :) you accomplished something just by doing that, and that is motivating me to fill my time with just a little bit more reading. so much to learn and have fun imagining. so thank you! i'll try and read a little bit more in the time that i have of my warhammer 40k novels, they are really interesting and fun. (saludos desde argentina! english is a bit easier for me than portuguese jeje)
Greetings to my Argentinian neighbor! Happy to know you were inspired to read a bit more. It's always a good thing to do. Also, Warhammer is a very interesting franchise. I recently got into it through the Vermintide series of games, but still know very little about its lore. Still, it's already picked my interest. Thank you for your kind words!
Valeu!
Cool video👍
Thanks!
Thank you for this video it's been eye openings i knew i was wasting away due to all media i was consuming and this video has made it more apparent so thank you I'll go read a book now
Awesome! Have fun reading!
Fast, cheap, accessible, even alienating stuff--against the ascetic and deliberate world of wisdom and knowledge and clear goals. That's the usual way of framing this issue, right? I atleast valued the way in which you seem to value getting to knowledge and clear goals through pleasure itself, where most times people just say "the shitposts feel good" and end it at that. There has to be another way of finding pleasure in deliberately building your own language or way of speaking to communicate better. It's still frustrating that it's framed as an individual issue rather than a call to change the conditions which systematically get people addicted to the UI of any Meta product, though. I think changing the way in which those platforms monopolize attention should be a key political goal of anyone who cares about this stuff, individual ethics just aren't enough.
The key point is "of anyone who cares about this stuff". Sadly, I don't think many political leaders care about these things, so it usually falls on the individual to realize they could be living a healthier life. An interesting comment. Thanks for sharing.
Bruh this vid is a GEM
Glad you liked it.
People are too eager to turn their brains off. They live blindly, fall into a trance and run away from themselves. Then just before they die they look back and realise they never even were alive all that much to begin with.
Thankfully, I've noticed some people can at least recognize they could be doing things better, they just need to hear the right words, or be reminded of them. Heh, I guess that's why I'm making these videos. To remind others and myself that things can be better.
@@ButWordsRemain I agree, a lot can be done to help people wake up and live consciously. It is hard though as you gotta balance being a voice of reason with being preachy!
Gostei do video man Subscribed
Vlw pelo sub!
Hehe, I definitely struggle with limiting things like doomscrolling and spend my time in an actually enjoyable way. Opening up the [social media] for just a moment boom all the time is gone. Making it a point to read more this year. Also currently carving out a little tradition of (re)reading a 24 volume manga series each december.
It's a nice habit to build. I'm doing some rereading myself.
U just earned a subscription
Thanks!
Good video, made me reflect a bit on how learning English was so easy for me back then as a kid (and as a German native speaker) but Spanish is a struggle or hassle now. The difference is the motive, in the latter, the media I consume is only to achieve the "end" of learning that language, not for the sake of fun or leisure. I also unfortunately spot myself making the same excuses like the ones you mentioned in the video, "I don't have time" for example, though I don't think I remember ever saying or rather thinking the phrase "I don't want to think", I guess a few minutes of reading might go a long way though. Anyways thanks for making me reflect I appreciate it a lot! Ya gained a new sub.
Sounds like we learned English in a similar way. By having fun. It's a testament to the value of meaningful leisure. Thanks a lot for the comment and the sub!
I like the gentleness of your voice, as much as the content of your speech. Enough to be unconfortable with how I reflect against what you say in regards to "having time to not think, of being too tired to think" This is high praise, just to be clear.
It means a lot to hear that. Thank you.
Bom video ✌🏽
Valeu!
Plus i remember a monk who grouped shit post as hurtful things
After reading your comment I decided to double check the meaning of "shit post" just to make sure we were talking about the same things. Turns out I got confused and meant to say something else. Thanks for bringing my attention to that!
I guess habit is the issue here. A habits strengthens when it has simple and instant reward while the a habit with complex and "slow-coming" reward fades away if it conflicts with the simple and instant one. That is how our mind works but this is oversimplified view. Edit: plus habit is not only in ur output mechanism but also in ur thinking methods or even ur cognitive function. Habit is like a roadway in which the most visited road gets more visits in the future than the less visited one
Yes. Sadly, today we're surrounded by habits which are easy to build, but not so good for us on the long term. So we have to put the extra effort into building up the good ones. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Incredible video. Though there are also some other things holding us all back.
And as long as we try to address them, one at a time, we should be good. Glad you liked the video!
3:59 is my general experience with humanity. People are so full of shit and they don’t even know it
It can get pretty disheartening. But thankfully there's plenty of good people out there as well.
good video 😁👍 thanks for sharing your thoughts
Sure thing! Thanks for the visit.

Really nice video, compared to most content on YT this is a breath of fresh air in more ways than one.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good background video choice for this one - a big point of Dark Souls is that losing your goal is tantamount to losing your humanity, a fate worse than death.
"Don't you dare go hollow."
