Would you recommend the Timbrens or airbags. What airbag setup did you go with?

airbags for sure! I used the Timbrens in a pinch and they work but when I would hit a large whoop or bottom out they would feel like i hit my spine on concrete. ZERO give. I swapped to the bags and they are adjustable. Helps with squat and the ride is much MUCH more forgiving. Feels like the camper isn't on and your sway is more "normal" feeling. When your not using them you just deflate them to about 5psi and forget about them. When you need them you just inflate with an air chuck . Easy breezy.
Hey...those are my quarters! Can you put those back? 😂 Nice machine👍!
if anyone wants to buy my timbrens from this video let me know. 1/2 off! I went with bags.
I have the 2014 Ram 2500 with Factory Air Ride. I have the Palamino HS2902..About 3300 lbs EW. I used the Timbrens on the rear with a Roadmaster sway bar [MUCH better / stiffer that stock] Also very heavy duty Shocks all around. She is solid as a rock now! Note to ram owners...The 4wd 2500 trucks have the same axle shafts, wheel hub bearingsand weight capability on the air bags as the SINGLE rear wheel 3500's. You will need to upgrade tires for the weight increase to equal the 3500. I have tested this rig of mine boondocking down some absolutely insane trails and roads with no issues in 26k miles.
35x12.50x17 Ridge Grapplers with E load rate and Cali leveling kit with pro tuned Fox shocks and the liftmaster 1000 airbag set up. Works great for my 1900 lb camper.
Exact same truck and exact same problem. Had to take back roads 250 miles of white knuckling. I ordered the Hellwigg and went with bags instead. Hope it works. Just bought and ordered 12/4/22.
It absolutely will.
I have the Palomino HS8801 and a 2013 Ram (with Cummins) and drove from Florida to Indiana where they make them to pick it up. It was a little squirrely with stock suspension, but not terrible. I've since added 7500 lb air bags and lower leafspring stableloads. Works great. I don't know why Ram thought it was a good idea to use coils on the rear in the 5th generation trucks. Anyway, I recently realized I could put timbrens on the front of the truck, and it now corners like a Corvette. Easy to install too.
nice
Great video. I just added Timbrens after watching your video. I’ve been researching Hellwig sway bars but it isn’t clear to me what the benefit is over the stock bar. Any thoughts?
I know that if you ever go bigger in tire size it's recommended to step up to a better sway bar. I've since done away with the Timbrens. They handled the load well but I didn't like the bottoming out. Very jarring. I went to some loadmaster airbags and couldnt be happier. A little more sway than the Timbrens but a much nicer ride....
Awesome rig. What MPG do you get with that camper on there?
All depends on how I drive it. I lose about 1.5 mpg if I keep it mild. On uphill grades is when it eats the gas up. Sometimes down to about 10mpg highway which is close to my normal around town mpg of 10.5 so I can't complain to much.
Thank you for your video. This exact same thing happened to me as I put a deck and then a side by side on there, weight about 1600 and the deck 350 but like you said could only do 45 MPH it sucked. Just put the Timbrens on as well but have not tested it yet but yes a bunch of dog snot how far in rams springs are.
i've since replaced the timbrens for airlift 5000 system since i leveled the truck.. MUCH better ride. the timbrens bottomed out hard where the bags give you a little sway but its more natural feel and softer. not to mention it levels your squat
Cool finds
That camper looks like it's made for a long bed not a short bed.
How did you get the cable to not rub on the frame or hit the altenator
Ran a pulley that was welded to the housing to a d ring welded to driver side frame . It never hit the alternator or frame. My anti rock arm killed the winch motor from hitting it...
Great work! Keep it up brother.
Awesome find brother.
Hey Kevin, that beach is one that I hit sometimes, with my Fisher CZ-21. The only problem is: I have trouble ground balancing on the wet sand. Looks like it's full of streaks of black sand. For the dry sand , my f75 LTD works great.
You definitely don't want to be out there right now then.. black sand and tsunami like one foot break rollers that'll knock u 2 the ground in a bad way. Conditions are so weird in SD this yr.
Yeah, I definitely keep my distance from those breaking waves!
All lockers
all lockers??? any open diffs??
no opens here. all lockers on these trails
What trail is that?
JAVIER ZAMORA one of many up at superstition mountain in brawley ca. May be one of the wishbone Trails
Impressive work on the finds and video Kevin- congrats!
Thanks. 😋
Beautiful rings !!!
Using the mask and snorkel seems like a good way to go.... Congrats on the nice rings Kevin!! See ya soon ... Till then GL&HH to you!
TheSilversniffer it actually helps ALOT when you’ve got layers of rock to try to scoop through. Found a few surface finds in the water too
first
2 weeks away and we will be there yet again
Great video.. That trail is a beast!!!
That Magnifier app on the smartphone is a great invention.
It worked well while the cable lasted. I would beef it up and run a steel cable next time. My anti rock hit the winch motor and wasted the winch.
Started on broken mirror then onto the wishbone sections
nice ring. I haven't been to that beach in over 20 years and then I went there other day I found a silver chain.
whats up with the credits at the end?...
g zimmermann just in good humor.

Wow, pretty sweet crawller finally up there, congrats on finishing the toy. Now lets go for the GOLD!
Good place to find some gold.
Awesome! Good hunt and video! A few good finds! Be sure worth going back to that spot I think! Thanks for sharing. GL&HH, Arty :-)
Buddy got 18k yesterday at mex beach near rosarito, sons a biches!
That beach has potential.
Hey Kevin. I think it's time to get back on the beach. Bay hunting has sucked for me lately...

That was the story of this summer.... OH THE SAND....... GO THE HELL AWAY! Take care and GL&HH
Hi Kevin, where exactly did you purchase your Excal pinpointer switch? Seems nicer and more solid than the buttons that I've seen. thank you. :)
Sylvia Catalano I had obn do it last yr. he is on longer doing mods....
Thats a nice pile of clad it,is,pretty amazing for the time you spend. Where's the goooooollllllddddd? Whent fishing today in Ensenada, it was pretty slim got some calicos and kelp bass, but it was a beautifull day.
Yes It was a beautifull day, thanks for the report and taking one for the team, was actually in Coronado bay side a coupple hours ago and was planning a hunt in the area, not anymore, and the plan was to hit Peru's capital beach for am lowtide today but got home from a wedding in Ensenada after 3 am and slept in, i know it also sucks there but its a beautifull beach and you never know maybe one of the 30 looters might off missed something. I think im gona stick to this side of the border for the time being. Gl and hh.
Way old update but the winch failed... My anti rock arm walked into the motor of the winch and caused it to start slipping. Then the synthetic line gave while doing a dry water fall climb. No damage other wise.... I might do it again some day but for now it was an experiment.
I gotta tell ya man. This scares the crap outa me. Nice vids, Subbed.
It's like a strap for when you're going up steep obstacles like dry waterfalls and your front end gets light and you lose traction. It keeps your front suspension compressed so you keep your traction and also keeps the weight of the vehicle forward giving you less of a chance of rolling over backwards while climbing something.
what is the purpose of it
To lower for your fat gf lol
Nice! Do you use that to level off if your leaning to much on an obstetrical or something?
Wow I've parked in some hard places but that takes the biscuit lol
