Two Oceans Slope Soarers
Южно-Африканская Республика
Добавлен 29 окт 2011
We are a committed group of slope soarers who spend our spare time flying some the most beautiful slopes in the world with Radio Controlled model aircraft. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, and specifically the southern end of the Cape Peninsula, we are blessed with stunning views over Table Bay, Chapmans Peak, Kommetjie and False Bay.
The Cape Peninsula is host to a fair amount of wind, so we are never short of lift and time in the air.
We are dedicated to the growth of the fantastic pastime of slope soaring, the enjoyment thereof, and the great comradery offered by our families and friends. The preservation of the environment in which our pastime takes place is of great importance to ensure that future slope soarers will be ensured the same great flying sites that we are able to enjoy.
If you would like to venture into R/C model slope soaring, or are an accomplished pilot, please do not hesitate to contact us and enjoy a day on the slopes with us.

Two Oceans Slope Soarers on Navy Day
Great stuff!! It is almost like re-inventing flight for birds!!
What's the name of that song? I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've been flying RC for 35 years and have watched a multitude of rc videos but this is the best song for flying I've ever heard. Well done. That's a great song for that video!
Thankyou, the song has been AI generated for the specific flying occasion.
@@Two_Oceans_Slope_Soarers Wow, I didn't know that could be done. Thank you. Great video by the way.
I wonder any of RC slope glider flyers in Hong Kong are watching this video. The flying site looks very similar to Clear Water Bay site. The slope site faces to the east and lots of RC glider fans come to fly, especially after mid autumn is a right wing direction, as it blows very smooth and steady from the ocean I miss very much the days used to fly Chris Foss, Phase 6, until RX battery becomes flat. Thums up No. 61 is me as well as it is for goood back ground music.
Thank you for your comments and glad you enjoyed the video.
I had a friend that used to do this.. i remember making him a little circuit board that would screech over a piezo buzzer when actuators pulled batteries below a certain level... this way you could hear when your batteries were close to bottoming out... as they would measure ok with no load, but under load dropped the voltage... I thin it was a simple LM311 with the minimum of parts for weight reasons... you probably have these features built-in today...
Thank you for your interesting comments. Yes, today many RC Radio systems have telemetry. The data one can receive back from the plane depends on how many sensors there are onboard. However the default telemetry is signal strength and receiver battery voltage.
@@Two_Oceans_Slope_Soarers yeah , that was like back in the 90's, so I assume things were pretty old school back then...
Would be nice if they had cameras on board.
I fly mine with FPV.
Awesome those gliders nice video & nice song 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great AI song! Great words!!
It's funny how all the gliders start swooping like a flock of birds!
Mosselbay munispality has threatened to fine R10000 for sloping in a public space
That is unfortunate. This particular site is an officially registered and recognised flying site.
It would be great to get a list of the different models being used ?
Here is a list covering most of the models: 1. Flying wings (Windrider Bee, Wasp) 2. Mini-Vector aerobatic model designed by James Hammond 3. Miraj by Aeromod 4. MB339's - Aermacchi 5. Sea Fury 6. Spitfire 7. Focke Wulf 8. Super Toucan by AB Models 9. Labooh by Aviation Creation 10 Brisk by Aviation Creation 11. Mig 12. Mustang
@@Two_Oceans_Slope_Soarers many thanks - I enjoyed the video which reminded me of many , many years ago when my friend Eric introduced me to Aeromod products and I got Essoraj , Voltige , Prodij , and some other large F3b variant , which were a real step up from my foamies - Jw wing and P51 , in the days when EPP was the ' new thing ' ( way more resilient than the Dupont blue foam used for ceiling boards that we cut wings from using cnc hot wire cutters. - We went to Northcliff most weekends - but no such winds as your crew has, but still super relaxing . we still had radios from JR with long antennas , I think 35MHZ range with pegs 🙄
So glad to hear that you know Eric and Aeromod products. Eric has supplied many of our members with a range of the Aeromod products and many of us still fly them. They are excellent gliders and appropriately strong enough for our conditions of rough landings.
Wow gents truly so relexing and professional ,How do I miss the Ocean slope flying From Kzn
Glad you enjoyed the video
Fantastic Movie ❤🛩💯👍⭐🎅⭐🌲⭐🤩⭐😍⭐🛩🛩🛩🛩🛩🛩Hangfliegen das einzig wahre, Motor kann jeder😂
Thank you
Nothing better than half pipes 👌
They are fun😀
NOW THAT'S AWESOME FLYING GUYS ...!!!🦅🙏👍😉 OUTSTANDING...!!!GREAT VIDEO...!!! LOVE IT...!!!💖💖😎😎🔥🔥😁😁😁😁✌✌
Glad you enjoyed it
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet ! Love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank yall !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL :)
Glad you liked it!!
Great photos, keep them coming, I was still there flying with you guys.
Thanks, will do!
Flys like its on rails
spent two months there in the winter and not one day did the wind blow , was gutted
That is unfortunate. For this slope to work one needs a South-Easterly, Southerly or South-Westerly. The wind tends to blow in these directions in the SA summer months which are from October through to February, though this is not a guarantee.
No video of either launch or landing???
My daughter lives in CT and i would love to pay you guys a visit next time I'm there.
Please do
Respect! Respect! Respect! Landing of a super orchidee under your conditions is a difficult job! The wind was extraordinary calm, but. . . . I wish you had good luck. Always happy landings!
Thank you, the plane landed safely
These 3+ meter gliders are majestic and magnificent! Thanks for sharing this!
Our pleasure!
that is really cool 👍🇺🇸🙋🏻 but you're music sucks😂😂😂😂😂
What perfect weather
Sweeeeet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Impressive tight & fast rolls for such a large wing. That looks like a 2m for sure. That large wing area is going to give a better hover on landing as he clearly demonstrated. Nice job! I am guessing all wings are sheeted otherwise the monokote would be riddled with holes.
Thank you for your kind comments. The wingspan is 60" and is hollow molded from carbon, therefore very strong and able to resist penetration from the bushes when landing.
Another day in paradise! Strong winds giving you some great half pipes! Keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Proof that a Jart makes goofy pilots fly better.
Awesome music choice as well.
Thanks!
The squadron of MBs is better than watching a group of Olympic sync swimmers! Keep it up!
Couldn't agree more!
SUPER LOVELY 🥰 THANK YOU
Thank you
Excellent video, with good music!
Thank you
I would love to attend the Hermanus Slope weekend! Please tel me what is the v-tail glider in this video? Regards Piet
Morning all The Hermanus registration is open and link is at the bottom of this message. Entries are open to all SA pilots of both ARO associations, ie SAMAA and RCASA. However if you're a SAMMA Member you'll merely need to apply for a one week membership at RCASA at a cost of R75. See below details and link. Click on the registration link below but before hand, you'll need to: 1. Ensure you have your RCASA membership number handy, (if you're a SAMAA member then you can use your SAMAA nr for the registration for now, then you'll need to apply for a one week permit from the RCASA website on approx 20th Nov, see: www.rcasa.org.za/membership-account/membership-levels/ and then bring that membership number along with you on Saturday 23rd Nov). 2. Make a note of, and add up the costs for your entry fee cost, meal cost and shirt, and be able to make your EFT payment mid way through your online registration, and be able to upload a screenshot /copy of your POP on the form at the same time as you're finishing up your registration. Let me know if you having any hassles. Many thanks, Simon Pf AFC committee Registration link: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdv9EJYNKpr34CRXA9B0xEvS1j4kEaiCRV_Tklsb4g2UfA0lg/viewform?usp=sf_link

Epic!
Thanks
You guys never fail to put a tear in my eye for missing my flying days. This stuff reminds so much of my home slope in San Francisco.
Thank you Reed
Dude the sound tracks are epic! Seriously is this a real group or made by AI? Great footage. Keep it up!
Thank you, the sound tracks are AI generated😀
Mannn I miss combat. Great video.
Thank you
😎 , years since I've done that
not a good video
Love yall !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Great flying on a beautiful day! Love it!
Thank you
What wind speed? Great flying skills
Wind was probably around 30km/h at the time
my dream is to fly in the company of people crazier than me
Come and join us😀
Unlimited lift with that ~25km breeze and unlimited rolls with that plane! Looks like a spinning drill bit!! Keep it up!
Definitely 😊
I miss sloping, the road up to our hill is now 4x4 only an the Aveo cannot survive it. But a friend with a truck is also keen... so there is hope.... dang, it's been 10 years or so... ruclips.net/video/3CacrDBTLis/видео.html
It’s a great way to relax and enjoy the outdoors and have a lot of fun with friends
Great skills and great venue. Greetings and jealousy from an ice cold Eswatini where not a single RC plane ever flew. Keep it up it keeps hope alive.
Thanks 😊
This video makes me so happy. Thank you so much for keeping the JART dream alive and flying that beast the way it was designed to be flown.
The Jart is an amazing design. So glad you get to see your siblings flying all over the world 😀
Gorgeous!! Looks very relaxing.. Thank You 😊😊😊
You’re welcome 😊
A beautiful hobby!
Indeed!
What kind of RC plane is it? Where can i buy it? Is it heavy to carry around or even hike up to mountain?
These flying wings are made from expanded polypropylene foam (epp). They can either be self made or purchased online. Windrider is one of the companies that make them e.g Windrider Bee. www.windrider.com.hk/windrider-bee2-epp-combat-wings
