This was a really great review video. I have my JX3 and have been practicing SRT climbing and repelling down. I made a couple small additions, like a very short additional bridge out of Amsteel for the SRT climbing(there are two extra bridge loops on the JX3) and added (2) latitude method saddle bags, one to each side to carry my rope, hand ascender and madrock safeguard. The saddle bags store nicely inside the folded up seat (transport mode) It's very easy to SRT climb with the JX3 due to the support of the backrest and seat. Also, repelling down is a lot of fun and very easy. Thanks for the great video, and good luck this season!

If you don’t mind I’d like to pick your brain a little bit. Mostly what SRT equipment are you using? Thanks.

I turned it down to 54 pounds that way when I’m in upstate New York and it’s cold and a deer comes in on my weak side, It will be no problem getting it back. I usually shoot 62 pounds for reference.

It’s voodoo or witchcraft or something along those lines cause it sure ain’t me! Ha ha! I’m 72 years old and in the 40 yard max ASA class but at least 50% of my practice shots are at a 5” diameter spot at 45 yards. 5” is the mean diameter of an ASA 10 ring on most animal targets. The 12 score I can see generally but my realistic goal is holding center of the 10 and let er rip. I’m in the known class so there’s not any excuses for not hitting the 10 ring lol. 👍👍👀

Justin, that is a great idea! I believe I’m going to do that. I think that would also make a great “Grip’s Tips” episode. I will of course give you credit!

Bigger older bucks ARE a different animal than an older doe. Tougher? I believe yes. Larger thicker leg and rib bones. I have had many pass thru and many with the same arrow buried up to the vanes.

Yes Sir! bottom line is there is just more animal to shoot through, and the stuff that arrow is trying to get through is thicker and tougher. Thanks for watching!

Because I/we ( my son) have all our feeders and ladder stands and one archer designed box blind ( for me with a heater lol) at yardages we created when setting these all up my 3 pin are set at 23-30-37. I’ve never used the 37 on deer but have on a curious coyote or two. Generally the mesquite has been cleared to about 40 yards circle with the feeder basically in the center. Stands are a few yards into the brush. The barrels all have the distance written on them so it’s a no-brainer lol. My sight is a CBE tl slider with .010 with a complete sight tape 20-100 so Idont have many excuses. ( except I might have? rushed the shot) More people should try using this method. It works pretty good on the 3-d course. I don’t like gap shooting but work at using the best pin option high of low on a deer or a 10 ring on a 3-d target. 👍👍

I like it, customized to fit your set up. In all honesty I could probably set one pin at 23 yards and go hunt. I set the other pins just in case. You know what they say, "I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it." Good Luck this season!
