Táimíd ghaolta leó le fulaingt ocrais, agus traocht an t-siúlóid ar slí an drochshaoil.
one of my pillars of irish music, thank you for your continuation
This stirs my Scots/Irish blood.
It sounds like dead people walking around.
That's the saddest song ever.
1m plus died, 1m plus immigrated to USA and roughly 1M immigrated to continent. 2 of my relatives immigrated from Ireland during the famine.
Well done! Thanks for reminding us how fleeting life can be.
🇷🇺..😢
Many roads in America were originally built by Irish people. When the Americans became independent from Great Britain the Irish sailed over to rebuild the city hall of New York on a boat called the Irish Rover. That's what the Irish folk song the Irish Rover is about. The Irish Rover was built in Cork in the Republic of Ireland.
Thankx 💚🤍🧡
If you have not a clue what this song is about then I'm the one to talk to about this all. Between the 1845 & 1855 there was a famine in Ireland. Many people died from sickness and starvation while others were arrested and taken to Botany bay in Australia. Others weren't arrested. They went on a boat to the United States of America. They also went to live life in towns in England which are Liverpool,Manchester and London.
My grandfather was laid to rest with these pipes .... Queenstown ☘ my great grandfather went down defending the 16 🤔🌹☘☘
Beautiful
Good interpretation of a horrible time.
Great, Jim!
Perfect music for a bitter sorrow.
Wow
haunting
Thank you, sir, for writing this piece. It certainly has guts, and I hope it "has legs" as well, and travels far. Fair play to you in any case.
Truly amazing song
Every day, somewhere in the world, this scene is repeated. Tears are rolling down my cheeks, which is a trivial matter, compared to the horror of the suffering which occurs elsewhere.
Heart wrenching - but brilliant! The only instrument harrowing enough to justify the subject, played magnificently.
