Hello everyone, my name is Ly Tu Nhieu, 23 years old, living in a rural area surrounded by mountains in Northern Vietnam. When I got married, I thought I would have a peaceful home with a husband who promised to take care of the family. But my husband, another farmer in the village, had a habit of getting drunk after a tiring day of work. At first, the drinking sessions were just meetings with friends, but gradually, that habit became an obsession.

One day, he got drunk, could not control himself and kicked me out of the house, with rude, insulting words. I did not know where to go, there was no place that was home to me anymore. A warm family was now broken.

But I was still the image of a resilient rural girl, not easily defeated. Every step was pain, but also a search for myself. I walked out of that place, not because I didn't love him anymore, but because I loved myself more - I would stand up and find a new life.
