Thats not a Tempest. Its a Hawker Typhoon. Its recognisable from its canopy and enormous intake at the front.
It’s a Tempest - look at the wingshape (much better that the Typhoon thick section), and early Tempests had the Sabre (with chin exhaust - see the pictures in Pierre Clousterman’s “The Big Show: his Tempest “Le Grand Charles”) - Later models had the radial Bristol Centaurus engine; now THAT must have been a hell of a ride…

@@stevenpayne9063You mean chin radiator not exhaust.Pierre Clostermann by the way and the Centaurus Mk 2 Tempest was developed concurrently with the Mk5 but troubles with the big radial kept it back.It proved a better engine ultimately but in wartime they had the Sabre knowledge and production from the Typhoon.

Sweep wing is just for storage or space saving on the deck.
I absolutely love the swept wings!! It’s like it can go from a low speed, wings out lurking bomber type jet, to a high speed, dogfighting, air killer typa flying wing almost lookin jet!! The way it looks with the swept wings blending into the back “ailerons? Or rudders? Maybe” and the way the entire jet looks altogether with the wings swept back is amazing looking!!!

First time I heard a Napier Sabre sounding like a Bristol Centaurus.
The Tom Cat was a wickedly beautiful aircraft. It also was fast, lethal and expensive. It was an analog, muscle powered airplane. It served almost 35 years in the US inventory. There were only 712 ever built.
Too bad its engines were so shitty for most of its life…. It was just getting good when the Pentagon got rid of it. :(

Yeah, those TF-30s were absolute garbage. They should’ve converted the remaining A and B models to the D and kept them in service, but I get it, they took a lot of work to maintain, way more than what the pentagon viewed as necessary since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Yet it seems like the pilot Does Intervene with the Wing position Because in Shows when they do that Wing Sweep Pass it's like it's Folding at the press of a button cause the Jet ain't looking like it's going much Faster Or Slower !? Also they're able to be Fully Swept Back in Formation So it also Seems the Altitude is A Factor for the Computer to adjust Aero dynamics 🤷♂️:P

@@GNZLAP ah dang I was close I forgot ms2004 existed. Personally I don’t like the physics in msfs. A f-15 can take off a flight deck in no time with out a hook 😂 and f-15 isn’t a carrier plane. I personally enjoy dcs world and their amazing f-14a and b. However If this f-14 is released for. P3d I’ll most likely get it 👍

hello when i press x and switch to external view the scenery in the distance disappears as well as when i switch to other views after i have switched to external the mesh scenery gets messed up... any ideas for a solution? has this ever happened to you?
