@@Broomhandles I prefer the smaller size dot but a bigger glass. I ran the Vortex Defender XL last week at area 5 and the smallest dot currently is 5moa for the xl. I loved the big glass, but not the bigger dot. I shot the defender st at area 6 with a 3moa dot and it is much easier to call my shots, especially on swingers and when I shoot on the move. The smaller glass isn’t as easy though. Once I find a good dot with a small dot and big glass that I like, I’ll shoot the defender ST in 3moa.

@@BroomhandlesI have shot the SRO for awhile before, the glass is so fishbowl looking to me and it glares in the sun worse for me compared to other dots. Also with water(rain) it shows 1000 dots on the glass if it gets on the emitter in my experience and makes aiming super hard.

I don’t think about pulling the trigger or think about when things are lined up consciously. I focus on a small spot on the steel and when the red dot comes onto the plate I shoot. I would train shooting two poppers close together and alternate hits on them. Start slow and then speed up gradually till you miss. Then start over. Once you are confident and comfortable hitting them you can spread them out in 5-10 yard increments and repeat the process. Then move the poppers farther away and repeat. It all depends on how hard you want to make it. Again once you are confident and comfortable, do the same thing but enter your shooting area moving fast from all directions and focus on hitting that first shot as early as you can. Shooting a couple matches of steel challenge will also really help and it’s way less boring.

@@GunBrosShooting there definitely is a difference between a tight fitting custom gun with a big magwell and 360 degree textured grip with stellar accuracy and a loosey goosey production gun. The gun definitely makes it easier or harder depending on what it is, but the most impact on where you place at a match is the shooter behind it. Spending money and time on getting better vs gear is what I would do first.

@@Henderson_A17 it has a 7double/3single action trigger pull, and a 10lbs recoil spring. I put an extra power extractor spring with half a coil cut off as well. It has Henning grips.

@@JacobHetherington where did you get the extractor spring? I had a few issues today. Trying to narrow it down.

I was shooting 124 gr ammo at this match at 1080 fps. I use a 9lbs recoil spring and for slower 147 gr ammo I have never had any issues. With the faster ammo the extractor with a brand new factory spring couldn’t hold onto the case to extract it. With the case left in the chamber the next live round would feed into the back of it. To fix it I need to run a heavier recoil spring or get an extra power extractor spring.
