The Palo Alto High School Instrumental Music Program has three major ensembles that serve as the base groups for all other participation in the program. They are the Concert Band, Symphonic Band and the Orchestra.

Jeffrey Willner
Director of Instrumental Music
A trumpet player, Mr. Willner holds degrees from San Jose State, Ohio State and Santa Clara University. He has played in professional and community groups. Over his nearly forty years as a music educator, Mr. Willner still gets thrilled every day hearing and interacting with his students. He has taught at Paly since Fall of 2000.

Greg Miller
Band Director
The 2022-2023 year will be Greg Miller’s 19th year teaching instrumental music. He holds both a Bachelors and Masters of Music Education from The University of Akron. Greg, a trombone player, currently performs with the San Jose Wind Symphony.
