For me, the UBOOM X offers a cleaner sound image here, clearly separated and tidy. In terms of bass, it is in no way inferior to the Go + Play 3. So in this comparison, it clearly delivers the better sound and currently offers the most attractive overall package.

One thing i ve seemed to notice is that the brane x s bass dramatically drops off as you push volumes, atleast on the unit i heard

I have the HK Go Play 3 and I also got the Brane X just to see what the hype is all about. The Brane definitely hits lower frequencies but the loudness is more limited on the lower ones. The fact that a speaker of this size can even do that though is amazing. Overall bass is very impressive and room filling for sure. To me though the mids and highs are overpowered by the bass and the volume must be really cranked up high for them to equal out. The HK overall sounds better and definitely higher end (hard to describe but it really does), albeit with not as much low frequency energy (but still really good bass and easily room filling). I don't care for the build quality of the Brane. The handle is really cheap feeling and mine doesn't even fold down all the way. The fabric grill is not quite lined up in the front, and the plastic molding underneath where the mid and tweeters are located is is not symmetrical (looks like is going slightly uphill from left to right). They obviously spent the money on the woofer and the R&D to make it. It doesn't look or feel like a $500 speaker. Just my hands on opinion as I don't have any sponsors to cater to. The HK looks and feels much more premium. I got my HK for $199 brand new from the JBL website. As cool as the Brane is, the HK is a bargain in comparison. I am certain Brane will come out with improved versions as this is the first gen, and I definitely look forward to that. I would personally wait until then unless $500 isn't a concern to you.

Mine does the same

JBL is designed for CONCERT STYLE and much louder and bass spread farther. Whereas BRANE X is awesome for small rooms with compact heavy bass.

The Brane X sounds like a normal speaker if it were placed in another room and you could only hear the sound through a wall. Terribly muffled.

I find the Infurture K2 Pro very interesting. Apart from your video, I couldn't find any other information about the speaker on the Internet. Where can it be bought and at what price is it offered? Do you have any specs that you can share?

Right now you can get 2 Onyx 9 for less than the price of one Brane X. Two Onyx 9’s paired together via aura cast for stereo sound is better than one Brane.

I bought a Soundcore X600, sound out of that litle thing is epic. Ive got a Naim Muso Qb2 that cost £800 in my kitchen and the X600 which cost £120 bests it in every dept sound wise!

While I find both speakers good to listen to, I find the Mania to produce more impressive sound for its size. It's why I play it more than my Brane X units, and only have one, as the Brane X is nice, however the update in April upgraded the FPGA and also updated the EQ, giving it a huge boost to the 70 Hz range, resulting in more fun when listening to EDM, but not great for podcasts or spoken word. The RAD is literally radical, it's tuned lower than what they want it to produce, and it did produce excellent bass, to the point where 16 Hz would make it walk on its shocks, that was on an earlier firmware build. Mania has only seen a single EQ revision, and that was to improve volume at lower volumes and to reduce the potential of the woofers turning off with a nice pop. I had that happen to two Manias before my current device, yet I feel its user interface of physical controls is superior to the touch strip. Not to mention, being totally blind, and using this speaker without a Braille label or physical dot indicators is quite challenging in terms of spacial awareness and needing to tap a specific spot. That's why Brane bought a Braille labeler and applied a label beneath the touch controls. Hopefully they will release a second generation unit or something different to improve on user experience.

I have the GP3. I use it with eq mode 3. This wil give you better and clearer midrange and treble. I love the sound of the GP3 and i'm good with it especially considering its cheaper than the Brane. But the Brane sounds enticing f'sure

At first glance they seem to have a similar sound, but after analyzing it carefully I realized that the Brane X's sound is more complete and the bass/sub bass has more sound pressure.
