Yes, we really received a lot of positive and enthusiastic feedback and it was very emotional for us, also because it was the first time we presented our new program on the melancholy songs of lovers who separate because of the crusades. 🌹

In fact we decided to prepare a program about Love during the times of the crusades. We were contacted by the festival to play, and they told us specifically to prepare for them a concert that would includde songs of the crusades. So we decided to let the public meditate on how crusades made people suffer, because we are lucky enough to have manuscript where lyrics "against" the idea of crusades are preserved. For example: <Amas e chantas soven>>, love and sing often, this is the advice given by Love to Peirol in the tenso he wrote and in which Love tries to convince him not to go on crusade; adding that “many lovers will depart, weeping, from their ladies”. We have also the complaint of a wife whose husband went to such war, preserved in an early form of the Venetian dialect. A lament from Mantova and one from Sicily wrote by Rinaldo d'Aquino. In another text "A la fontana del vergier" by troubadour Marcabru, a woman is crying and she is mad at Louis VII of France because he called men to depart for the crusade. No, questa musica è frutto dell'incontro di diverse culture in secoli di storia europea. Greci, etruschi, bizantini, longobardi, africani, germani, franchi, goti, normanni, latini, arabi. Non è esistita in antichità una cultura unilaterale che ha portato a questo risultato nell'XI secolo, bensì un terreno di incontri che ha generato ciò che eravamo, ciò che siamo e ciò che saremo.

​@@MurmurMoriNon concorderò mai sul fatto che in questa musica possano esserci eredità arabe e tantomeno africane, per il resto i popoli citati sono gli antenati a cui mi riferivo! Comunque, nonostante questa musica ci comunichi evidentemente sensazioni diverse, è per entrambi fonte di emozione...grazie per la risposta!

@@manfredoiallonardi4020 Agostino d'Ippona, amaziɣ del Nord Africa, attratto dall'Italia viaggiò e venne battezzato da Ambrogio a Milano. Agostino scrisse il "De Musica" a Milano e ne conclusa la stesura solo una volta tornato a Tagaste in Algeria. Questo è solo un esempio che include due personaggi celebri del IV secolo.

@@MurmurMori Agostino probabilmente era oriundo, oppure greco, all' epoca il nordafrica romano era diverso da quello attuale! Le immagini che abbiamo, anche se successive lo mostrano con tratti indoeuropei...
