If you’re talking about the slavery of black people, you need only to look at the Spirituals that came out of slavery in the United States to see what Jesus did for them. He gave them hope. Not hope of freedom from slavery, but hope of freedom eternally after their suffering on earth was done. If you’re talking about other times of slavery like the slavery of Jews by the Babylonians or the Islamic slavery of Christians or the Chinese sex slaves of Japan, the hope found in God is still there. I understand your question but I also understand the underlying question of how God could allow this happen. In the beginning God created a perfect world. We as humans decided to handle it recklessly in disobedience to God and consequently we live in a fallen world. Jesus promised that in this world we will have trials and tribulations and that is because of our choices. However, Jesus also promised His presence as we go through the struggles. And if you’re wondering why God gave us a choice in the first place, He wanted humans who would choose to love Him so He gave them the right to choose. If you’re wondering why God doesn’t intervene now, the answer is the same. He wants us to chose Him instead of the things that Satan offers us in this fallen world. He has shown us how to live, but moreover, He has shown us how to live in a fallen world (again,, because it is what we chose) and He has given us the hope of a future life in which we will live in the perfect world He created in the first place. There are no easy answers to your questions. If you’re looking for someone to blame for slavery, it’s us. Not you and me specifically, but us as humans. Human greed has and continues to drive slave traffic. God is there to help us deal with it. In the 6th Chapter of Romans Paul points out that we are slaves to sin, “You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.”

The promise is sure. The promise gives hope.

I am a pre-trib guy, but I can argue the post trib position. I haven't been able to figure out to legitimately argue the mid-trib position. However, I'm not concerned all that much about it. I believe the end is coming soon and I live accordingly. And I don't want to go through the tribulation, but I am overwhelmingly a pan-millennial - it's all going to pan out in the end just the way God intends it.

How's that going to be of any real help? Just honestly wondering. 'respect the media' seems like having respect for lies, since it's packed full of those. It's okay to honor your family, but not if that means you have to tamper with your faith in God in order to keep them satisfied. Do the best at your job is cool, unless it's sucking up to others and spending hours there, that ought to have been given to obeying God instead. Get it, that I don't get it?
