Listening AND journaling? wow! THAT is a skill! 👏 I have to do something like vacuuming or cooking (only something i already know how to cook) to be able to listen to audiobook. And i spend 2 times a day 20 minutes walking to/from work so it is when I listen the most :D I love sitting down and read a book but I find less and less time to do so :/ I guess 'yay' for library pushing you 🤣 We have few libraries in town and their selection is abysmal, especially in fantasy. I'm so sad about it. So glad at least other people have better libraries.

@@RyeMiArt I feel the same, way too little time as an adult with work to sit down and read for a long time. I'm very grateful for the good libraries we have, the selection isn't perfect but it improves all the time a little bit ❤

you mean the little booklet? it was in one of stickii slub subscription packs. I think May vintage one. They have past packs available on their website. Yes, physical books are so much better :D I'd love to read more physically as well but...life 😅 especially in July if I did not listen to audiobooks I would've not finished any 😅

Yes it is based on Dozier School for Boys. It was not an easy read but I'm glad I read it.

I had issues with the pacing and way too many characters (for my liking) and also I did not care about few of them. Plus I am disappointed in booktube because this books is so not about master-student relationship, she literally abandons him few chapters in! And not one review mentioned that. It was not bad but not what I expected.

Wow, 8 days! That's awesome! I had quite a few books taking me few weeks to mothS so that probably skewed it hard. I did not expect much from Raven boys. It was a spur of the moment decision 😆 now i just hope the last 2 books won't ruin it for me :D

Native English speakers are so lucky they have no idea :D Also, there have been quite a few books translated not from original language but from e.g. czech (very similar to Slovak, guess they got lazy) and it is just not good. I feel the book looses so much with translation and 'double' translation is a no no :D Wishing lots of amazing reads to you too! :D

@@RyeMiArt I decided to read Dune after watching the movie from the 80s. Which I enjoyed at the time. I also watched the new movies and I think they are another great interpretation of the book. I think it is really hard to adapt as so much of the book consists of the characters' inner dialogue, which is harder to portray in the movie medium. Especially the sets and costuming I found super well done! I'd still recommend reading the book at some point. It might give you some more context of the world, plus it is surprisingly funny at times (which wasn't portrayed as much in the new movies, it was in the old one). Overall I like to go in blind, and I don't mind more triggering content, but some of the scenes in this book were more visceral than I had expected. I'm still thinking about them now.

I've noticed that! Whenever there was German version of the book it had always more pages. I learnt German in high school so I can see why 🤣 But it has been more than 10 years since I spoke German so now I don't understand a thing except few words :D Oh, I did not know that. Ahhh thank you so much 😊 No, I don't speak English daily haha I usually write my script, butcher my way through it, and then spend forever editing 🤣 I'd love to read in Slovak more but I feel like there is something lost in translation no matter how hard translators work on it and I could never read new releases because it would take a long time to Slovak version to be released (if ever) so I learnt English to be able to read and watch whatever I want :D

Oh, I'm so sorry about the wait. I've not received my last months subscription yet either. And they took money for the next one already. They had a pretty big sale recently, so I think that might be what's holding them back. It took a month for this order to come. My regular subscriptions come around the 20th of each month when everything goes smoothly. Takes forever to come to Europe.
