“He was a man who picked up a guitar and used his voice, personality and common man language to speak to the human condition. We’re really trying to showcase all facets of Woody Guthrie…He was so many things beside a songwriter-he was a painter, a philosopher, a soldier, a novelist, a supporter of the disenfranchised. His songs were just the tip of the iceberg. He was the spirit of America.” - ...

Music does matter ... music evokes emotion and wakens the soul. Thank you for this panel ... this message needs to get out in a world where we seek to monetize everything and only place value on what can drive capitalism. Thank you Oklahoma Humanities for helping bring this message! What a great panel discussion.

Very insightful! I think we sometimes take for granted the power of song. It was changing the world and carrying the human story long before there was written word. Woody Guthrie and these artists who've followed in his footsteps give their talents to make our world better. Thanks to each of you, and thank you to Oklahoma Humanities for sponsoring this important work.

Wonderful discourse. We are in a time of release and facing our shadow self and humanity. Maybe giving birth to something new be it in death of our physical self or spiritual self.
