Great on you lad. Still miss my 1978 RD400. My first bike Lol. Not a race rocket like the TZ, however it had some balls. Especially when piped and jetted. Keep the rubber side down brothers and keep those revs above 7K on a 2-stroke. 🙂 Cheers and thanks. Damn I'm old. It's good to see that the old girls got some balls.

Yes,i had Monjuic.nice little mover,how how fast is that,Formula 500?,i think 125 mph,on mine,till one morning,so as not to wake the neighbours at 5 o,clock,,after an all night party, ,i did,nt warm it up properly[very loud][,,Castrol R Racing oil needs alot of warming ,and it went BANG 10 miles,down the A3,so sorry,loved that little bike,had it fixed,and sold it,good ole"days

That high exhaust is an issue, it can’t be tucked in tight so it’s on your leg all the time

I used to love the sound of mine making machine gun noises from the induction under that alloy tank.

At the time (March 2004), I was looking for an additional Ducati because I wanted to take a little easier on my Superlight Series IV. At my trusted dealer, a new 999R happened to be on stage and was being assembled just after delivery. What I didn't like about the standard version had been changed in the R. The red main frame with black rear made of aluminum, the fairing and the seat made of CFRP and the valve covers and the lamp holder made of magnesium and other goodies - this made the R look much more appealing (not least because of the exhaust cover made of CFRP compared to the silver aluminum sheet of the standard and S version). Above all, however, the welded black SBK swingarm has significantly upgraded the rear. In any case, the Öhlins suspension and the R engine with a larger bore and slightly lower stroke are great components. The drivability and responsiveness compared to the 916/996/998 are worlds better. The then revolutionary new design itself - or even more so - still looks modern today. I'll keep it. I still love it. It's the most underrated Ducati ever built. Nevertheless, I would like to add a small correction to the information in the video. The first generation had an engine output of about 140 hp. Only with the 2nd generation from the MY 2005, which also got the wider fairing with only 2 air intakes in the front, the power would be increased to 150 hp. This 2nd generation had already installed titanium intake valves, the first generation still had steel valves. What irritates me a little here is the different frame color, the aluminum sheet metal trim of the silencer and the silver main and rear frame as well as the valve covers made of aluminum instead of magnesium and also the gray cast swingarm instead of the welded SBK swingarm. Were there differences between the models depending on the recipient country? Mine was built in 2003 and thus belongs to the first Generation.

Moto posseduta nel 1980 quando avevo 18 anni, identica alla mia ad eccezione delle ruote, montava le grimeca in lega. Quanti bellissimi ricordi indelebili era la 350 più veloce del mondo, tenuta di strada impeccabile, affidabile e parca nel consumo di benzina. Poi arrivo la yamaha rd 350 a due tempi che conoscevo bene avendo un amico che la possedeva, ma la Morini era superiore come tenuta di strada.
