I would have liked to agree at first, but then I thought about it. If you need more than 6 data drives (assuming you will use M2 SSDs for the system) or some additional peripherals, you most likely can afford a larger form factor motherboard. Having 4 NICs seems overmuch, but you can use the board as a router or run several VMs with separate physical ports allocated for them. Which is nice.

It bothers me to no end that most consumer facing stuff and even the more modern low power intel server chips have so few PCIE lanes. Ended up building myself an Epyc system just so I could have enough PCIE lanes for all the hardware I wanted/needed in my new proxmox build. These make great routers though, running opnsense on a little fanless N100 myself.

I personally can't vouch for this specific configuration but there are other N100 based miniPCs that worked with 32GB. I myself have a similar n6005 system that says 32GB max but I have 64GB installed and working fine, so I assume the same would work with this N100 system. The only possible issue may be that certain ram frequencies or manufacturers do not play well with the motherboard (so you may need to try multiple brands)

Ok, I purchased this board and am generally pleased with it, but the experiment with 32 GB was unsuccessful for me. I tried the ADATA AD5S480032G-S memory module and the motherboard did not work with it, so I had to install a 16 GB AD5S560016G-S and it worked fine.
