I went to a few races there back in the 60s. My favorite driver was Gus Linder, mostly because it was a ford. Also I ended up working near there in the 70s thu 2010 at Raccoon Creek State Park
Anyone know where I can get information on this car? I am Ted’s great niece and have been trying to figure out where it’s at. I would love to see it in person someday!
End of video of the crowd..........woman with two small boys..........I'm sure that is Judy Allison and late sons Davey and Clifford with her as little fellows....I was there for that event and remember them sitting back there behind me.
Good, but not as good as Billy Moyer
I've just bought his fire suit from a seller on Facebook, so getting history to put on display at nostalgia drag racing meets in the UK.
I've known Jim for over 35 years. Great guy. Two-time NHRA Super Stock world champion.
Man I can remember 1972 as a young kid my favorite driver Tony Diano and Jim Bickerstaff. Great racing. I was so sad that track closed down. My Dad took me to Midvale and Sharon to watch these guys race afterwards.Anyway Heidelberg was my favorite track of all the area speedways!
No one better on dirt
Wonder why he didn’t go in nascar
Oh so this was before his indictment for murder. He is connected to me in such a strange way and it’s breaking my reality to hear all the weird things about him
BLACKIE WATT IS MY HERO.
I just saw Blackie yesterday
That’s awesome Rich! Glad to see you are doing well - nice to see your mannerisms haven’t changed! It’s like we are back in that apartment working for Amarraca!
Just watching this brought back so many memories. I grew up in Pittsburgh, and went to all of the tracks in western PA, but Lernerville was always my favorite.
Sweeeeeet!
We love ,GTO judge
We love ,1957, yellow
What is the music in this video? I've heard it in a bunch of different themed videos it's perfect for motor racing, I do enjoy the nostalgia!
That’s my brother in the one picture, sitting on the ground against the wheel. He is wearing glasses.
P
What’s rememberable time
One of the best ever set behind the wheel
I was there that day, rain off and on, but no matter, I wouldn't have missed it. The greatest track ever!
New Ted well and known as the Bear, he was a guy who helped anyone with his knowledge of cars. The Bear moved to Florida and passed on. R.I.P. you were a legend and not for gotten.
I created the Wikipedia article years ago - loved this track. Grew up there. Glad to see they used at least 2 of my pics in this. Love all things Heidelberg Raceway!
I've sat in his 18th Gt. What a car.
Kress not Cress
Hmm. Thats his name. Ok
Keystone was always a shithole compared to PID back in the day. Keystone was dirt turn off areas and turn arounds and the tech inspection was a joke. If you wanted a goood race you went to PID. If you had something that there’s no way it would pass tech you took it to keystone. You want a real reunion? Fix up PID once again, it’s still there waiting for someone who gives a crap to make it new again
I have run at these in Waynesburg pa. Its fun even with a slow car lol
Great story. Surprised no one else has commented. Definitely a like
Your the Best Scott
The fab work in the Nova's bay is about as good as I have seen. Those joins are clinical.
15:1 for a turbo engine, rahhhh
Ben was the best of the best when I was a kid. He could go miles !! Lol !
Nice
Can't hide that Yooper accent.
Bloom boom ! ✌🏻😁
Scott bloomquist is a great driver
I too luv 57 Chevy n 67 nova ..well 57 has a satin black colour like it was the car of accountant in drive angry ...movie ..I hand build rc model of 57 black n beige roof top...
Had the pleasure of being around this car. It spent some time in Sebring Ohio during late 70's. Truly was an amazing car build.
Hey Ron, what was the name of the brothers who owned it. I remember talking to them about firing it up and they said something about burning down a tree they had it chained to.
@@garyhutmacher1151 I knew of a time when we were going to the air strip and the truck ran out of gas.So fired up the kritter on the back of the truck to get us to the gas station.
Also remember trying to get the weight distribution when the front was light. Added after burner and weights to the front.
@@garyhutmacher1151 Gary, when it was in Sebring it was owned by Denver Ormiston Sr. He had it at Quaker City drag strip and burned down their old fence on a special event night.
@@ronhubbs232 Thanks Ron. I remembered Denver but not his last name. I spent a lot of time on the corner of Indiana and Twelfth street working on my dirt bike with my friend Rob Devine and we'd walk down the alley whenever we heard him working on one of his cars.
Oh, yeah, Tarentum boy here, representin'! Been to MPaP many times for my F150.
John was a special guy, it was always so much fun to talk to him!
I dont see how jeff lutz lives in pa but is alowed to be on okc street outlaws.though u had to live in the same state as the team u represent racing for
That was the first thing that went thru my head when they said Jeff lutz from Pennsylvania! Guess it’s just like government when your in the good ole boys club and rules just don’t apply, lol
I was born in Mt. Oliver, right above the slopes...I miss home so much you would not believe it!
THANK YOU for sharing this video sir.
He likes the cocaine and hooker's
He is missed!
Anyone know why he changed his number?, way back when...oops sorry for posting before watching , it shows the number 18 at the bottom under the skull..I simply thought the zero was his new number...
Do your shop build the chassis and cage
It would have been nice to show a shot of the car. I see it's yellow and has an LS1.... that's about it!
