A Ride on the Turntable at the North Carolina Transportation Museum!
I visited the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC (just east of Salisbury) where you can take a look at the railroading exhibits, take a 25-minute train ride and ride a turntable. Ride a turntable? Yes you can!
For a small fee you can take a ride on the museum’s turntable, the same turntable where the locomotives are turned. Under the supervision of a museum staff member who operates the controls, you get to ride in a 360 degree circle and get a tour of the roundhouse, narrated by a museum staff member as you go along.
For the best experience, plan on spending a full day checking out the exhibits and taking a train ride. Train rides are offered on certain days, so check the ...

Edward Ringwald’s Last Day at the City of St. Petersburg!
Просмотров 96Год назад
Tuesday, 3 January 2023. After 35 years of valuable and loyal public service both to the citizens of the Sunshine City of St. Petersburg and to my co-workers at the Engineering & Capital Improvements Department, it was my last day and it was followed by retirement! A lot has transpired in the 35 years I have been with the City. For instance, I have seen two important St. Petersburg landmarks th...

How do you spend your New Years Eve, the last day of the year? Why not ride up to Folkston, Georgia and check out some trains! While on a New Years trip to Folkston I managed to see four CSX trains go by including two intermodals. A nice way to end 2018 on a good note. As always, sit back, relax and enjoy!

CSX Locomotive Crossing Gandy Blvd. in Tampa

Here is a short video of a CSX locomotive running engine light going north on the A Line industrial spur going over Gandy Blvd. in Tampa. I shot this video on my Apple iPhone 5S. This is the same CSX A Line that runs from Tampa to Richmond, the same line where Amtrak's Silver Service runs on. However, at Tampa Union Station (Mile Post A882.0) the A Line transitions from a main line to an indust...
Amtrak in Tampa passing through the Neve Wye

I had a day off from work not too long ago, so I went by an interesting railroad spot in Tampa located east of Ybor City. This is the place where Amtrak's Silver Star - Train 91 southbound and Train 92 northbound - do the daily "Am-Ritual" here in Tampa. After all, Tampa is one of many station stops on the route of the Silver Star. However, because of how Tampa's Union Station is set up it is c...
Trains passing through Tampa's Ybor City
Просмотров 512 тыс.13 лет назад
It's Thanksgiving week, and I was out and about in Tampa's historic Ybor City district. A major rail line runs through this area and Tampa's Union Station is located just to the west of Ybor City; from what I understand this rail line gets a lot of traffic daily not only from the scheduled Amtrak trains that stop here twice a day but the numerous CSX trains that pass through. On this video we s...

Southbound on the Howard Frankland Bridge at Dusk

It's a perfect evening for a ride on southbound Interstate 275 across the Howard Frankland Bridge from Tampa to St. Petersburg. Originally opened in 1960 as a single four lane span, the Howard Frankland Bridge extended Interstate 4 through Tampa and into St. Petersburg, terminating at Ulmerton Road/Martin Luther King St N (which we know today as Interstate 275's Exit 31). When Interstate 75 was...

The sun is setting in the west ... a perfect time to take a drive across the Sunshine Skyway Bridge at dusk. We start at the south Sunshine Skyway rest area and make our way north on the Sunshine Skyway as the sun sets in the distance, Opened in 1987, the Sunshine Skyway replaced a twin span of cantilever bridges built in 1954 and 1971; the 1971 span was damaged on 9 May 1980 when the freighter...

11:56 darn, the trains horn went low pitch after it passed the railroad crossing
Funny little tailhose making the whistle. Classic Florida Railroad Museum
I remember watching this video when i was just 9 years old back in 2016. This brings back memories. Really like mechanical bells.
I know I’m a year late but congratulations. Hope you are enjoying retirement!
I finally found your videos and looking for it for a long

That CSX loco is LOUD! Got to be! YBOR is full of drunks and the train must be heard! 🤣👌🏾
Solid!
that qS taking for ever so the rail gate can close with the red lights
Really cool! Thank you!
Love the sound of the crossing bells!
I remember watching this when I was a young boy
Me three. This was one of the first videos i watched when i was a kid when i first created this account back in February of 2016 at just 9 years old.
think you're confusing that "major rail line" for the S line just south of this (the A line)
Im Wondering how the cd would work with the 175-275s ramp and 28 st S
Who's also a big train fanatic? I am :)
I like this
1:04 Bell dings
Great video
Amtrak reverses
Nice! I subbed! Can you sub back?
1:50 that grumble sounded like someone was trying to take a poo
It's because it the horn and they were taking a poo really loud

Where is Blind Pass Bridge?
Between Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach on Gulf Blvd. (FL 699). However, the Blind Pass Bridge is a low level fixed span.
I wanna ride it
You can tell where 21st street is because you can hear the bells all the way from 20th street.
I love the older bell sound compared to the fake sounding ones that are being used most of the time !!!!
Same here!
Bring back the mechanical bells. The Electronic bells don't sound like true railroad crossings but mechanical bells do.
Oh wow. There was a wierd malfunction after the gates rose. Take a look: 3:12 in the time.
I very much applaud British and American rail fans. The Japanese and French have the best railroads, but there's nothing better than British or American diesel!!!

I took and saw a train go down the middle of the road in Tampa on Tuesday 2-25-14 at 6:45pm. It took and had an engine, boxcar and 9 tank cars. It was cool seeing it in the middle of the city down the road. I took and filmed it.
Jaw Tooth I subscribed to you along time ago I think. :-D
I see u everywhere
I saw this video on 2002
Cool video!!!
That's a really bad whistle
Not bad
listen to the star's wistle
About a week ago I caught a CSX freight backing down the spur just south east of the Amtrak station.
I was there just 3 days ago and caught the Amtrak coming and going. While I was there In Yber City I saw about 7 chickens downtown on the tracks!
Apparently chickens on the railroad tracks in Ybor City is not uncommon. I have family that lives down in Florida despite living in Maine.
All that horn blowing for loco and a tank car...HA! Pretty good video. My wife and I went 1st class on Amtrak, Tampa to NYC and back, was the best trip EVER! The only bad part was the Tampa-Lakeland track was horrible, thought we were going to derail more than a few times and I'm a former freight train conductor (Soo Line) I'm used to rough track, but that stretch out of Tampa was ridiculous! Wonder if CSX fixed it yet. Oh, and when the trip ended, that was the other bad part :-(
sqUEAk sqUEEAK sqUEAK!! xD
