Primus - Sucking Songs (1986 Demo)
Просмотров 67 тыс.3 года назад
This is the first release by Primus ever, as described in the Electric Grapevine book. The demo is also known as the Primus Sucks Demo Tape, and predates the Sausage tape by two years. It was recorded at Dancing Dog Studios with Lauren Miller as Engineer. "Sgt. Baker" features different lyrics and "They" is an early version of "Eleven". "Welcome To This World" is not apart of the original tape ...
Primus/ Pensacola Fl The “Sailing the seas of cheese.” Tour was 1 of the best shows I ever experienced! 1991. Small club. Behind a Builders Square if anybody knows the original home improvement store. No longer with us. lol…😂
Tommy the Cat sounds pretty cool played this slow.
Zippity doodahh!
i id radio keol lagrande kurt called me 227 a m and talke23 mnutes sent me demo tape for nirvana i told him i made that band name up for me n 1982 but he just dr=ecuided on it that night an then taking to mw as it 1988 about he was cool i was relieved of muy posistion kickedd out of state and never got his demo tape nice to me he was intelligent
moonbase 8
Ler the unstoppable !!
Didn't realize Temporary Phase was that old. Awesome.
Wow this hits a whole new corner of my brain just right
Raw alternative metal.
Dude, Sgt Baker sounds awesome!
Whoever JimBeam is thank you for this
this is blowing my mind that these songs were written so far in advance
That's cool and I subbed to you 😊
Is there a full version of (what I assume is) the early version of Shattering Song that plays before Welcome to This World??
Wow, what a gem. These guys suck
Is this before or after the sausage demo?
finally a tommy the cat i can play along with
🍼🤤
Interesting that the Nazis also created methadone (which is my opinion was the only good thing to come outta the Nazi regime) , and if I'm not mistaken the Germans might've created diacetylmorphine, Heroin.🤔 Bayer Heroin otc.The golden age of drugs where you could get pure drugs, if you wanted, legalt, we wage a war on an inanimate objective (drugs) and more end up dying as a result of this prohibition. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone meth abuse. But that be a diffence between use & abuse.
This is actually better than a lot of the later, major label stuff. The recording is excellent.
I wouldn't go far, it's just a new experience for you again. It definitely is sensational though
Holy shit! How fucking cool is this to stumble across years later? 😲
this guitar arrange on "welcome to this world" is sooo catchy! <3
These slower grooves sound way more funkier especially temporary phase.
Is that album cover CG?
everyone knows that ruclips.net/video/vZyLCq6vY9g/видео.html is first Primus, but live the lie.
it literally says it predates it by 2 years in the description
The real speed is in x1.25, OMG!!!
1.25 speed for proper speed on tommy the cat.
I like sgt. Baker here much more than the album version, and its sad that this is the only upload of this version on this site. It sounds a bit better in that tempo, also feels more lively when its less refined. And that scream at the end 😆
Dope ! I FOUND MY FIX ! PRIMUS SUCKS !
what i like the most is Mr. Claypools personal number on the tape.
4:44 so I can repeat this goodness
this tape sounds evil
Sgt. Baker recorded here in '86 and then released on Eeas of Cheese in '91. Amazing.
Is that Todd Huth on guitar?
My father was actually a childhood friend of Tim Wright, he gave my dad a copy of this tape, but he lost it when moving, awesome to hear it
Ask your dad what year it was really made, It was made in 1987 According to the first owner of this tape, Ask your pops
@PreludeFear2112 He thinks around 1987, at least that's when Tim gave him the tape.
This tape on RUclips was sold by a lady that said les gave it to her in 1987. Not 1986. Cool story maybe someday you will your dads copy in some old shoe box if so let me know. thanks
Please ask you dad if he remembers what the club was named where he got this tape ? I know a lot of old clubs that primus played, I would be very curious if he remembers the name of the club or bar thanks
@susanhutchinson6023 he actually received the tape when Tim was visiting him in Ohio, not in a club, so sorry I can't help
This is so fucking funky
Curveball's dance beats are super cool to me!
do you know if this is the drum machine sessions???? sure sounds like it to me!!!
No that would be my demo from 84 click the links and read the description Blame this kid for my tapes not being posted He called them bootlegs until les proved him wrong the first primus is from 1984 btw - ruclips.net/user/shortsCKX9wiihAP8
It sounds menacing!!!
22:22 I love them kick drum patterns!!
I´ve been a primus fanatic for many years and I had never listened to temporary phase or they, thanks a lot
So good
Wow I love the slow tempos....lends itself much better to the Peter Gabriel influence.
thanks for sharing this treasure! Temporary Phase sounds great on this.
This Sucks
I thiught it was slowed down at first, lol
How the hell was Tommy The Cat written in the mid 80s... Sounds like an alien jazz song from the future
i thought it was gonna be a joke but it is actually pretty good and fun!
holy shit, welcome to this world is cool
i wonder if the slowed-down Tommy the Cat inspired the Spegetti Western jam on Frizzle Fry
