Very cool! I wasn't aware of this genus
@@95_Nepentheses Most people outside of the hobby aren't even aware since it's so new and Triantha is so hard to come by.
Those look like they're from Altman Plants which another carnivorous plant youtuber bought some from walmart that looked huge and healthy! I guess it depends on the time of season you buy them
Thanks for the info dude
Informative video! ❤
Oh btw it’s the sundew garden I just change my name
Hey sorry I have not been active I’m on instagram a little more now
woah, U sound so different from the VFT vid
I planted Johnny jump ups in the summer of 2022 in a pot on the back deck. Now I have them in 3 pots and on the ground. The seeds spread easily. Thanks for sharing with us. Have a wonderful day!
Yes, flytraps are from the Carolinas, not the tropics. But even in the tropics, there are a lot of different climates. Cold, hot, wet, dry, and so on. I live between USDA Zones 9 and 10, so I’m hopeful my VFT will do well. It’s the extreme summer heat I worry about more than winter cold.
I like your video keep it up
Thank you, this was very helpful! So many insights! Thank you!
Is dormancy hard to deal with ?
D. adelae and its fellow "sisters" don't go dormant since all three are true tropical carnivores. But for temperate and cold hardy Drosera need to be watered less during winter.
I need to step up my carnivorous plant game.
Your video is horrible you couldn’t see how you did anything your camera wasn’t in what you was doing to show it
Thank you very informative. Just got my first little Venus flytrap. Wanna make sure it’s very healthy and happy.
Thank you!
Glad this helped.
Wilmington, NC!!!
Some droseras are really weeds in collections.
D. capensis is just one example of this.
I've just started my carnivorous plant obsession about a month in, and there is a bit of a bad information but they are pretty amazing and fast growing plants
Depends on the species. Some like Heliamphora are slow growers but yes they are amazing plants!
I have a question. What do I feed my very small Venus fly trap?
@@cynthiabaxter330 Fruit flys but they are tricky and difficult so I just let nature do its course
@@jeremiahjones9708 thank you but I keep the plant inside, so what can I feed it?
@@cynthiabaxter330 Just put it outside for a few hours and bugs will find it
id like to see more please.
ive seen wasps get eaten by them, do bees, butterflies and hover flies keep away from them. just im aiming to attract pollinaters to my main flora.
how do i know when to pot it on , ive no idea to tell the truth
we have mild winters and should be able to live on my balcony fingers crossed ill experiment.
35f is 1.6c
ive bought one on amazon , ive bought distilled water for it, i live in the north of england , can i grow it outdoors on my balcony.
Great video buddy keep up the good work!.
Thank you, if you feel like I forgot to mention something let me know.
What carnivorous plant is easiest to grow / hardest to kill?
Drosera capensis (cape sundew) is one of the easiest carnivores out there and different if you don't want a flytrap for a beginner plant. They don't need a dormancy and can tolerate a very light frost. However, they need a crap ton of light to remain healthy as well as sitting in distilled, rain or reverse osmosis water. They like to remain moist but not sopping wet. These plants need a grow light if grown indoors. I have no experience with grow lights since I live in a climate that has a very mild winter. In carnivorous plant collections they can become weeds.
@@sunshinecarnivores1919 Thanks. I've had a few flytraps & they always died. I heard some people also recommend picture plants, but I fear my thumb is too brown for any carnivorous plant.
@@wcdeich4how do you care for them?
@@jeremiahjones9708 No, I do not have any carnivorous plants now. In the past I bought some fly traps in the store on impulse, but they all died quickly b/c I did not know that feeding them fatty meat kills that leaf & fertilizer will kill the whole plant. I've heard some people say picture plants are tougher, but IDK.
I’m a sucker for plants and I live in Idaho end of December and these show up. I always wanted one and never thought I could grow it here. I grabbed a few and I’m thankful to lean I might be able to save a few.
I may not have been clear on the watering but only use distilled, rain or reverse osmosis only! Tap water will has too many minerals and plastic pots or glazed pots are best for these plants. Terra cotta has salts and minerals that can leech into the soil over time and will kill the venus flytrap. Sorry about not being clear enough.
Awesome, thanks for this!!!
I know some one that has like 30 or so of those guys and they are BIG they are making adult pitches I could try to trade for one and give it to you ( I probably won’t be able to I’m 12 and I would have to ask my parents)
Yooooo let’s gooooo
A few weeks ago I unboxed a new plant.
How do you know when to feed it if you are used dried insects or other food? You’re supposed to only do it once a month, but how do you know when?
Great looking plant and very well packed.🙂👍
Happy New Year
perfect
It's beautiful , show it lots of love
Pretty plants
I do not know what lithops are. I'm trying to grow tomatoes and youtube recommended me this video. Strange because I haven't even searched anywhere what I was doing.
I think spring might be a good time to grow tomatoes. It is strange that youtube sent you here. But Lithops are from a very dry arid climate in Africa around Namibia and perhaps Angola. They grow small like this to keep grazing animals from eating them. They require less water than a cactus. The watering is what I'm still learning about these plants.
j'avais jamai vu une vidéo aussi mal filmée...
I don't have a good quality camera to film.
Good luck.
Looking forward to see them develop.
I love amaryllis ❤
