Great Video…Wow, can’t believe someone paid for that.Paving sand? Roofing nails? Just did a job about 510 sq ft and used dgg and almost 1000 5x1x5” staples to make sure turf was totally secure.
Okay, will you show it to us? 🤩

Wow I am amazed you were tolerating the ointment being applied. I am now 2 weeks after a burn on my lower right leg. It is red and painful . Same as you described in the comments, laying down and pain subsides but getting out of bed or lowering my leg and man oh man the pain increases so fast. Takes like 2 or 3 minutes to put weight on my leg and hobble to the bathroom. I am applying a silver type of coated dressing. I don’t know how much longer before it actually heals. Thanks for your video

@@machack95 on this install it was not but you can absolutely use it for these types of applications. We always say you can never have too much drainage. Perforated pipe is an excellent solution!

Beautiful house
Thank you 😊
Shouldn't you cover it too with sterile gauze wrap or pads ?
@@scorpio663 yes this was just the video showing how we put the ointment on there and then after that we would wrap it with the sterile gauze very kinda lightly because it was pretty painful so yes, you are correct. This process every day I’d say for like a month and a half at least.
@@23CHELMS ok cause my son burned his leg on a generator and we have been treating it . Thinking of getting that Silverx Gel Or Silverdine get. Have you tried it ?🤔

How Many Days it took to heal this burn completely?
It took a couple months for all the wounds to heal
@@23CHELMS Ok
dude i'm like a week into grease burns on both legs from the knee down to ankles and it's stopped burning when i'm just laying around but walking hurts so bad. it feels like my legs are gonna explode bc the skin is so tight. how long does this last ? i on the edge of tears trying to walk
So what my doctors told me was to keep walking on it the more you walk on it the quicker it it’ll start to feel better and they gave me some special creams to put on it to help with the healing and I drink a ton of water
I’m also sorry to hear about your burns.
@@23CHELMS ok thanks man! i been walking on it bc i had to move outta my apartment and into my new place so i had no choice but to walk a bunch but damn it's brutal sometimes and the second i lay down and elevate my legs the pain is gone instantly
So that’s what I was doing was elevating my leg and the pain would stop, but the doctor told me if I was interested in him doing a skin graph then to keep elevating my leg, but if I was interested in not having a surgery to get moving
A house fire has always been one of my greatest fears. I know you experienced a good deal of loss, but it can be replaced. I'm glad to hear that family and fur babies are safe. I wish you hadn't had to go through this, but it's nice to know the outcome wasn't much, much worse
I’m thankful everyday for that very thought. Thank you for the kind words.
@@23CHELMS sometime if you feel it's ok, I would really enjoy being able to contact you directly
How big was this place? Can you put up after pictures?
If I remember right it was like 100x150 or something close to
Any update on your leg now? Does it have a scars? I got mine too in thigh part , knee and leg. And what cream did you use ?
Hey, thank you so much for checking up on my leg. It does have scarring, but I don’t have any side effects from it. It just looks ugly, but I have normal function of the leg and everything like that and to me is very minimal from what it used to be. at my chiropractor they actually have this thing called a cold laser that I used to do once a week and that really helped and then we put a lot of aloe vera plant on it as it was healing
@@23CHELMS sorry for what happened. Is your scars deep before? What does your scars look like is it kind of elevated scars or only like uneven skin tone?
@@princessdarlenecabredo just different color now. I don’t know how to add a photo to this thread, but it’s just kind of discolored and really only in the areas that you see in the video that are like yellow.
Can do an update of your scars please? On how does it looks like after and before. And suggest what product did you use. That would be a big help for us.
@@princessdarlenecabredo so obviously I’m not a doctor. I can only tell you what helped me. I’ll do a quick update video on my leg and all I did was use the burn aftercare stuff that the doctor gave me and I started my leg and then I did the cold laser at my chiropractor, aloe vera plant
I will say this they didn't use roofing nails they used framing nails, second you don't need any board or any edging along a hard edge like a structure, 3rd we install turf out of Florida and we use 60d galvanized nails at every 6" our turf doesn't pull up under hurricane force winds. The nails rust in the base, expanding, causing them to turn into "hooks" that do not allow the turf to pull up east at all and will hold much better than stapling the edge Edit: you also never mentioned that the "contractor" who did there job didn't put any sand out enough sand to help weight the turf down as well as help with Thermo regulation
Exactly my point, that’s why it is titled a horrible install. I don’t use nails anymore I use boards along the edge that you never see and we staple the turf to the top of it. It’s a superior way to install synthetic turf, way better than using nails.
@@23CHELMS your talking about PVC board dude and what 18 gauge staples every what 3". We install turf that has been in there direct path of hurricanes even the surf ran up onto the turf and it turf was unaffected except for a lot of additional sand that had to be removed. Tried and tested 6" galvanized nails every 6" around the edge and every 2" in the inside area of the turf holds beautifully. Will send pictures of still on file of that install as proof
What caused this?
Puppy heating lamp
@23CHELMS oh wow sorry to hear this but I'm glad y'all are all safe now
Just lije you i had burn also due to hot oil..the doc.told me to do skingraft but i refuse and after 3weeks she told me no need to have skin grafting.but now its been 5 months since the accident my burned skin still red ,raised and a bit painfull when pressed.
How much was this job ?
Interesting
Beautiful!!
Got my front and backyard done with steps and all the works. Totally worth it and had 3 men finish it in less than a week! I live in Odessa Tx and new neighborhood folks come left and right asking and complimenting. I got the turf mower to clean also and since I’ve got it installed I’ve only had to clean it 1 time in past 8 months! Great great investment folks.
It solves a lot of problems and is worth the investment.
That install was done cause it met her budget. Great work on your part finding all the mistakes and showing it to the people. We cut our seams with an "S" shape. Tell me what you think. ruclips.net/video/duTmRWn_dGQ/видео.htmlsi=_j5e03THAkQCc0OL
If the S shape was any good. Why don't we do it on the football turf fields for high schools and colleges? S shape is not the way..
@texaswayz2289 Your obviously not a turf installer first of all the s seam hides turf seams much better than straight seams. Football fields and sports complexes use straight seams because it's faster to do,more cost effective and because it's going to get tore up and replaced almost immediately. If you don't know what your talking about stfu.we charge more for s seams vs straight seams.
Brother, I admire you and your wife's courage in doing what you did. However, WHAT were you thinking? Aside from getting the pups and the children out, you should have exited the house and let it go with all watching from the outside. Death by fire is a very agonizing way to die. Don't get me wrong. The only thing that matters is that no lives were lost.
If I would have felt like saving the house would cost me my life I definitely would have made my exit. I felt like I was able to do it especially once I was outside spraying water into the house instead of being inside still.
Are u gonna post the video of the house renovation from fire?
Yes
Does the treated 4 x 4 s help with erosion?
It holds the base in place and allows us to staple the turf to the top of it. You can also use a concrete curb. Curb is better but their budget was not allowing for it.
I'm somehow in a similar situation with you with burns on my left leg. I wanted to know if you had to do a skin draft surgery to heal or did it heal on its own. I really would like to avoid surgery of possible.
So here is my advice that the dr gave me. I came in on crutches after about two weeks at home to my initial burn visit with the burn doctor after my accident and he looked at me and he says why are you on crutches and I told him because my leg is in extreme pain and I can’t really walk And he said in the burn center rehabilitation starts the same day he told me go home I’m gonna see you in one week and if you’re on those crutches when you come back I’m gonna make you do a skin graph, so whatever you have to do start exercising wherever you’re burned at so that way you can try to avoid the skin graph. I’m not a dr but that’s what they told me so I started doing leg exercises and standing up and down constantly and walking on it and slowly started to not hurt as much and when I went back in to see him he said no surgery
Nice! New work truck?

So sorry to hear that. :( anything saveable?
A restoration company came and packed out our house and cleaned everything and brought it back. Most stuff was saved but they threw a lot of it away due to soot/smoke damage. Nothing in the fire room was saved
@@23CHELMS so sorry to hear that.
Lost my house and two cats to a fire on Christmas morning. You are lucky to have much of the house still in tact. Stay safe!
Thank you and sorry for your loss.
Was a cause ever determined?
He said in another comment that it was the heating lamp for the puppies.
As a full time FF for over 34 years, you did a great job, and, you are extremely lucky to be alive. Had that fire flashed over on you, you'd have died a horrible death. If your area is serviced by volunteer FF's, you should consider applying. Most people would have panicked, and lost the house. You tried using an extinguisher, a large pot of water, and then remembered your garden hose was available. Great job!
Thank you!!
What was the initial cause/ignition source of the fire? I thought it may have been the tree, but that was obviously in another room..
Heating lamp for puppies
@@23CHELMS Wow.. So glad the family and pups got out safe.. Thanks for the quick reply..
thanks for the correction to your recording.
Wife got puppies and then yelled at kids Did i get that right?
I made this video right after I had gotten out of the hospital. Our kids were in the front yard as we made it into the room where the fire was. The kids woke up at the same time we did and were safe as I fought the fire and my wife got the puppies out of the flames. You’re the 2nd person who has said this so I assume I just made a verbal error when making the video as I was still pretty frazzled and on a lot of medication.
Im so sorry and on Christmas hope u have been able to rebuild god bless you
I’m glad all survived. FYI. Had the fire caught the garland, the stairs would have been impassable. I used to garland our stairs. But somehow I heard of one catching fire and blocked a staircase.
all of our smoke detectors are hardwired to each other so if one goes off they all go off. and its a small house that also had a fire in the basement
There’s no doubt you saved your house with your actions, a true protector. I’m glad you, your family, dogs and house are okay
They got the dogs before the children?!?
Kids were already coming down the stairs to get out while we were running towards the living room to try and put the fire out.
You survived your house is still standing, every thing can be replaced. Hug your wife and kid's . If it were my home I would retrofit a sprinkler system inside to suppress fire and I would put ABC extinguishers on every floor of your house in every hallway and one in every room and I would train everyone in my house how to use them. also have a disaster plan and an escape plan. with two exits from every room and an escape ladders on the second floor. With a glass breaker and it's not a bad idea to have a fire blanket. PS glad you're safe hopefully you didn't require skin grafts to heal your Burns. Do not use heat lamps. a thermostatically controlled space heaters with overheat and tip over shut off would be better.. as a former firefighter I wish you all the best and I've seen a billion times worse. We all live and learn.
Agreed! Burns healed nicely with no skin grafts but I do have a gnarly scar
