I love these videos. I am not of this ethnicity (trying not to be insensitive or rude) but I have to ask when the drummers are making their singing sounds like I have heard with the Northern Cree Singers... are they singing words or something to the equivalent to "La dee dee, la dee da" ? My ears cannot always pick out the subtleties of language. I speak a few languages, not fluently, but even in the languages I do know I am aware that I am missing some sounds and cannot fully reproduce them. Thank you. Another thing I love about seeing this recording is how the culture is actively maintained by including children, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged adults, and even some older folks. It is all inclusive! Amazing!

How do most people/tribe members learn the songs to these drum beats?? Would one almost have to know and/or speak the tribal language to be able to sing and learn these songs?? I'm just curious because I try to listen to the sounds of these songs. Any answers or input about this is greatly appreciated!!!
