Hi! I'm currently trying this method with some trees and shrubs and my success is variable, but I must say that Tamarix sp. species are ridiculously easy to root in water. I just cut new growth from an established tree in summer, put it in water and the roots shoot in less than two weeks. My first attempt, with a single cutting planted in 2021, is currently a little 6 feet tall tree which has reached that size in just one season.

My sweet bay tree is in a large planter in a courtyard. The flowers are profuse right now, but the leaves cluster at the ends of the branches and is empty on the rest of the branch. Anything to be concerned about. It is about 9 ft. high.

Every single plant on this planet can be taken from a cutting and a new life , yes the plant must fight to survive but that also proves the genius of plant life itself

I have some that I just plated which were in 5 gallon buckets and about 6 ft tall after planting. We have some at work that are gorgeous and smell awesome but the ones at work only have 3 trunks sprouting from them which I prefer (they are about 20ft tall at this point), mine on the other hand have 4-7 trunks coming out of the dirt that was in the pot and they are very sizable. I don't want my trees to look bushy I'd rather them look like the trees at work which are clear up to head level so is it ok to cut all the extra trunks off and just leave 3 so that when they grow they will not be so busy at the bottom?

In my neighborhood in Akron OH the street is lined with Sycamore trees. The small ranch style homes were built in the early 50s and just by luck of the spacing I have 2 in my front yard. I bemoan the constant clean up of leaves, seed balls and mountains of peeled bark but then look out my front window and see those beautiful trees with their mottled bark and all is right with the world. Interestingly though quite large none of these trees have raised the adjacent sidewalks and driveways so glad about that!

Cold water can hold more dissolved oxygen than warm water and fresh water can hold more dissolved oxygen than salt water. The maximum amount of DO that the water can hold is called the saturation value. It’s possible, and very often desired-especially in a greenhouse-to exceed the natural saturation point of DO in water. This is called super-saturation.

Hi From South Yorkshire UK. What sort of temperature would say works best for this method? I started some apple tree cuttings in the house in the middle of January 2018, maybe about 12 degrees. One or two buds are starting to show signs of life (green shoots) after about a month. No visible signs of roots though?? What are your thoughts?

The 338 is a great round. Sorry for the corrections but a hunting bullet doesn't "explode", it fragments. There is a very distinct difference between the two. Exploding suggests there is a secondary charge that detonates once a bullet impacts its intended target which is not the case at all in hunting bullets and is illegal. Hunters have enough of a bad name as it is without needing ill conceived misinforming statements, albeit unintended, from hunters themselves. Also a deer or animal carcass not "carcus". Fragmentation is not a sought after characteristic in animals that are used for table fare because of its associated lead contamination which can be microscopic at times and not always removed cleanly from the meat before consumption. Fragmentation is caused not by the size of a caliber but by a cup and core (copper jacketed lead bullet...) used in any caliber big or small, versus a monolithic solid made of pure copper or copper alloy that doesn't fragment, is not intended to and is every bit as potent without any possible contamination of unwanted materials.
