Interesting place. Flatbush, Brooklyn, was originally a Dutch settlement called "Vlacke Bos" (meaning "flat woodland" in Dutch) in the 17th century. It was one of the original six towns established in what is now Brooklyn and has a rich history influenced by its early Dutch settlers. Today, Flatbush is known for its diverse community, with a large Caribbean population and a variety of cultural influences reflected in its food, music, and festivals as we see here.
