Black Hole trail - Riding UNDERGROUND in an abandoned mine
Просмотров 9195 месяцев назад
Hands down the most unique trail I've ever ridden. Riding underground through an abandoned mine 500m deep. The Black Hole trail in Mežica, Slovenia at Peca Underground, is unforgettable. The black (expert) graded trail drops 150m and truely one of a kind.

Good to meet you! Thanks
Great commentary 🤙🏾
Turners/hotbox is my go to, great trails
Great video Rae. This is one of my fave's (I'm a local too), especially if I'm feeling like something a little spicey but not too hectic or demanding. You make those top jumps look easy! (I'm really good at casing them)
one of my fav nelson lines/ normally at home up Denniston/ looking forward to some visits over summer w mates.
Thankyou! Love the tips and chat. Will look for those lines next ride
Yes Rae!! 👌🏻
You have inspired me Josh
Nice Video! 'Cheeky Line' - Josh's influence?

Good luck getting back out...!
So cooʻoooool
Made those trails look so easy.🤙
Oh well what an awesome trail. I wonder if any abandoned mines here in New Zealand could be opened up? Certainly very unique ride. For me I'll stick to Spooners tunnel.
Yo! I live just down the road in the Wakefield village. Crackup!
I really don't mind caving and so this looks fantastic! I'd love to know how grippy or slippery it was? On on hand you have rough rock tunnelling but on the other hand it has dust right!? That underground feel... gadamn...
Rae! A SUPER important detail that I think I've never heard anyone else besides you mention: The orientation of your head. I didn't really think about it until recently when I was watching a helmet cam of an enduro rider (Jesse Malemed, maybe?). He's ripping through turns - flat and bermed - but I noticed the angle of the horizon line isn't really changing that much. It got me thinking. Then I stumble across your RUclips channel, take a peek at your vids, and notice you mention it right away. Just as I suspected (but haven't gotten a chance to test yet) the orientation of your head staying upright is important to stability! Similar to when a person is going through a chunky section of trail; a stable head above the chaos of the bike and rest of the body makes for a more stable and controlled ride. Of course, as the berm gets bigger and we start looking at bikepark sorts of corners the angle of the bike starts to be too angled to keep your head upright. But I imagine LESS change of angle often equals more calm and stability. Thanks for including that little nugget that cemented the idea for me (and hopefully others)!
good views. also could take more of those slow-mo shots :)
Thanks for the feedback. Can definitely do more for next time
Mum cam can! Chur the kiwis ⛳
Hi Ray. Get well soon... and back to racing. The fast lines always the big jump, just the landing you have to worry about🤣🚴♂️🍾
'Mum cam' did well! Looks like you and Jesse enjoyed been spectators for once. Rest up and heal quickly!
Soooo grippy!!! Ouwch on the arm. Speedy recovery!
At times, I wondered if your tires were even touching the ground. I sure hope she is okay.
Is that a Liv Pique you’re riding?
Liv Intrigue LT ☺️
Looks like an awesome ride!
follow cam ftw eh !!! follow cam all the grade 5-6's bro !!!! mean as
Fantastic to see what tyres, size, presure, and rim width you use. I have quite narrow rims on my trek but trying to do more enduro grade trails. I feel the tyre side movement so keen to upgrade wider.
Thar is amazimg. I've cruised that thing top to bottom and those rocks are tricky!
Insane focus!
Mean! Have not done this trail (yet?)...
Did I just see you around midday on Tuesday up on Nelson's P51 trail? Some fast riders lurking in the forest there!
Yep that was me. Was doing some trail intervals on P51
Hardcore! Well, I see you there on Strava so following. Gogogo!!!
nice trails full support here ride wild
Nice one! Just love these videos!
Top to bottom with a follow cam.... the helmet cam gods have provided!!
Sick videos! Great series, opened my eyes to what I have to look forward too one day!
I love 629❤ rode it last year and had so much fun 🤘
Fantastic videos - enjoyed the journey! So sad about Morgane- hope she has a quick recovery!
Sick rides! I for one feel that i would absolutley love some footage outside of racing. I mean the racing is awesome, but the part of the world you ride in is so exotic to north europeans! And youre a absolutely awesome rider at that🙌🔥 Just my two cents, but either way thanks for the superb content Rae🤙😃
Thanks! I’ve just started dabbling in it so appreciate the feedback. Keen to do some POV outside of racing. Bonus is there will be less heavy mouth breathing when I’m not racing the clock 🤣
Wow, just wow!
Wow. That was some class, tight riding. Those trails look mint. 🔥
Awesome 🤘🤘
Beast mode! I hope you don't show these videos to your parents!
Nothing like a big exposure techy pinch climb mid stage to get the heart rate up 😳
😂 got to keep everyone on their toes
lovely!
Looks primo out there 👌
Huge hear rate I guess based on the heavy puffing. Also guessing that the others on course i.e. 'rider coming' were men's competitor doing a CFR. Love the indicator tap going from hip to throat level in S2, yes yes I know I complain and admittedly there were nothing to attach to it.
Trails look amazing; probably a lot steeper than the GoPro reveals. Thanks for sharing! (And, agree about POV without thrash metal!)
The speed of that takeoff took me by surprise. You mean business
