Funny to hear your reactions. They are pretty much just what I thought. The banter with the dragons was the best! Sped through Iron flame as soon as Fourth wing was done but what a cliffhanger and now to wait for Onyx storm

I loved this book, I'm intrigued where the second one will take it from the ending! Dane was a red flag flowed by another bigger red flag, followed by another haha. I liked Xaden as a character but I still don't think he's the right choice for Violet but he's meant to be the bad boy isn't he so I'll ignore that factor haha! It is fiction after all. I was more here for the academia and the dragons which were done soooo well, I just wanted more and more dragon involvement as the book went on. And the challenges/tests we see a lot of in these kind of books were done really different and made such good reading!! Glad you enjoyed it!

The Scarlet Veil is actually a spin-off from Serpent & Dove. If you haven’t read Serpent & Dove yet I highly recommend starting with it as I believe there are some spoilers in The Scarlet Veil. The characters from Scarlet Veil, a lot happens to them in Serpent & Dove. Also happy birthday!

LOVE Caraval!! I had the exact same reaction when I started Legendary, I was like oh I miss Scarlet though lol, but I totally agree, the story picked up and then the third one was just 😚👌. The Barnes and Noble Exclusive of Spectacular is one of the prettiest Christmas themed books out rn, I can't wait to read it. I love a good "hallmark christmas special'' book and it will be fun to be back in that world again. So glad you loved the series!🎄

I was thinking that I liked the thumbnail for this video because it looks like you're married to a shadow person, and then you go and mention liking the shadow daddy vibe and it all makes sense. I've heard of these books but had no real desire to read them this video is kinda making me think that maybe I should. Eventually. Sometime ps. I love that your family has a colour changing cat!!

"The Bromance Club" sounds hysterical! Of these, I've read Bride (thanks to your lovely wife's suggestion) and my daughter and I buddy read Shady Hollow (which we heard about from you in another video) and loved it! It was so cute and my daughter (12) really thought the whole time she had it figured out. Solid recommendations!

Yesterday I started a book by Ryan Hendrickson called Tip of the Spear. And I can’t rank it high enough because it’s a real story. I just love military autobiographies. The bring out all the emotions, but mainly just tears of anger honestly.

Trying to read more romance. I read Laurie Gilmore's Pumpkin Spice Cafe two months ago, and I really liked it. Last month, I read a spicy MM Romance with the sleazy title of Football Sundae that I almost didn't finish because the first chapter started out sleazy. I stuck with it, and I grew to like the characters. I was out book storing and I stopped by a cute little shop with free apple cider. All Christmas romantacy was on sale, so I picked up a MM book called The Merriest Misters by Timothy Janovsky since they didn't have the next book from Laurie Gilmore. I haven't had a lot of luck finding a lot romance that like, but I really enjoy when I do. Right now, I'm reading a middle grade book called Boston Jane, that appears to have best friend romance.

I use fanfiction to beat my reading slumps. They don't count towards my reading goal, so there is no pressure to finish or rate them.

Even though I'm an old man, my favorite palate cleansers are middle grade books. I got addicted when going to Scholastic book fairs with my son and I realized I could get him to read more if he saw me read a book.

The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen is 294 pages and it is my comfort read, it’s perfect for end of the year reading. It takes place in winter, has romance, every chapter is named after a candy or sweet snack and has snowmen/snowball fights. It’s magical realism and my comfort read, my copy is worn out! I’m a huge Sarah Addison Allen fan! lol

My fav short/fast pace books are Percy Jackson!

I always think of psychological thrillers as fast-paced, quick reads. I’d say anything by Iain Reid, Goodnight Beautiful by Aimee Molloy, The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides.
