Добавлен 7 фев 2018
Featuring clips I have found from VHS tapes. Commercial breaks and news clips galore.
Please note I do not take requests, as these tapes are what I find online, at flea markets, through trading or at garage sales/estate sales. What I find may not be what you want to see on the channel so please refrain from requesting content.
I also do not own any of these clips. All of them belong to their respective owners.

WEDG Commercial Breaks (February 20, 2002)
#startrek #deckthehalls #christmas
Taken from Star Trek: Enterprise on cable-only UPN station WEDG-TV (channel 4) in Albany, NY. Finally, some WEDG from before UPN's logo change! Also get a load of their slogan.
Two UPN shows promoted heavily here are "As If" and "The Random Years." Both were the lowest-rated new shows to come out of the 2001-02 season, and were cancelled as soon as they started. In its place afterward was the final season of Roswell, which moved to UPN that season from The WB.

#startrek #deckthehalls #christmas Merry Christmas! Or "Trek the Halls" I should say. Fun fact: said name was a slogan UPN itself used in 2002 to promote an Enterprise episode! Taken from the 100th episode of Star Trek: Voyager, on UPN-owned station WSBK-TV (channel 38) in Boston. WSBK was on cable in the Albany area (they also had a low-powered station named "WVBG" at the time, but you were ou...

#startrek #deckthehalls #christmas Taken from Star Trek: Enterprise on UPN station WEDG-TV (channel 4 on Time Warner Cable) in Albany, NY. WNYA (My4) holds the channel 4 spot on what is now Spectrum, and UPN has since gone off the air. The 2002-03 season for UPN was an improvement for the ailing network. Aside from Star Trek's continued success with its audience, the network had shows like One-...

#startrek #deckthehalls #christmas Taken from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, on Fox station WXXA-TV (channel 23) in Albany, NY. The show aired from 1993 to 1999 and was the third installment in the series franchise. WXXA was the home for all the Star Trek shows. The original series, TNG, and Deep Space Nine had their original runs on the station, while Voyager aired its first few seasons on the st...

#startrek #deckthehalls #christmas Taken from Star Trek: Enterprise, season 2 episode 4, on UPN station WEDG-TV (channel 4 on Time Warner Cable, now Spectrum). WNYA (channel 51), a MyNetworkTV affiliate, holds the channel 4 spot on cable now. This is also my final Enterprise episode from a quartet I've uploaded. UPN's other show on Wednesday was a revival of The Twilight Zone, hosted by Forest ...

#startrek #deckthehalls #christmas The third upload in our series, from the third episode of Star Trek: Enterprise's second season. For Albany, NY viewership, it aired on WEDG-TV (Time Warner Cable channel 4) which was the 518's home for UPN at the time. WNYA, which holds the same channel number on cable, replaced it in 2003. This was the same month Time Warner Cable launched newscasts in the A...

#startrek #deckthehalls #christmas Taken from the second episode of Star Trek: Enterprise's second season. This aired on cable-exclusive WEDG-TV (channel 4), the Albany, NY area's then-home for UPN. UPN moved to WNYA (channel 51) the next year, but kept its cable channel 4 position. When WEDG wasn't airing UPN shows, it aired burn-off programming from WXXA, its sister station, including sitcoms...

#startrek #deckthehalls #christmas Our "Trek The Halls" marathon has begun! And we begin with a rarity! All this week will be uploads from Star Trek episodes, as I have come across tapings of it in my first new haul in over a month. This set, airing during Star Trek: Enterprise's season two premiere, aired on WEDG-TV (cable channel 4), which was the Albany, NY area's source for UPN shows at the...

#christmas Happy Holidays from Junkie's Tape Bin! Taken from A Charlie Brown Christmas and Frosty the Snowman, both airing on CBS affiliate WRGB (channel 6) in Schenectady, NY, serving the Albany area. Frosty now airs on NBC, alongside Rudolph and many other Rankin-Bass specials (Comcast owns the rights to them so not surprised). As of tomorrow, this was Christmas on CBS 35 years ago. An Ames c...

Taken from L.A. Confidential, airing on CBS affiliate WRGB (channel 6) in Schenectady, NY, serving the Albany area. The movie aired opposite the 2000 Olympics, as fall premieres were delayed due to the event. CBS had a gamble with new shows that season. Yes, Dear, CSI (which aired for 15 seasons and spawned numerous spin-offs), and The District were among the new hits, but earlier in the year t...

Taken from Hotel, based on the Arthur Hailey novel, on WTEN (channel 10), the ABC affiliate in Albany, NY. First of two Christmas videos, and this one aired 40 years ago tonight! Includes some McDonald’s commercials, a TV10 “Call for Action” promo, and the flops ABC had on the air that season. The only big hit was Who’s The Boss, starring Tony Danza, and it lasted until 1992. Taken from another Simpsons episode, on Fox's New York City station WNYW (channel 5) in New York, NY. The episode was "Dude, Where's My Ranch?," which is one of my least favorite episodes of the show IMO. It basically goes from being a Christmas episode to something completely different. I liked WNYW's look of the time. It played with the "red-and-white" colors and added blue hues, plus the Fox...

Taken from Friday The 13th: The Series, on Fox affiliate WXXA-TV (channel 23) in Albany, NY. I regret not uploading this last week - totally forgot I had a Friday The 13th tape in my stash, and last week, December 13th was Friday! Included (for Steven Walsh's pleasures) is a "Don't Let Fox Weekend Pass You By" promo with WXXA's logo over it. Indeed, Fox Weekend did pass people by, as the networ...

Taken from 60 Minutes on CBS O&O station WCBS-TV (channel 2) in New York, NY. 60 Minutes was still airing two editions that week, with another show on Wednesday's, but that ended at the end of the season. Included in the promos for the Grammy Awards (which were coming up next) is a look back at Shania Twain's performance at the 1999 Awards. I bring her up because Twain recently announced her vi...

Taken from The Simpsons reruns on Fox O&O WNYW (channel 5) in New York City. The call letters were a derive from the original WNEW name, but the slogan suggests "What New Yorkers Watch." The Simpsons is now 35 years old! The show premiered yesterday, in 1989, on Fox, back when the network aired Sunday, Monday and Saturday primetime shows. The show broke into the Top 30 that season, a first for ...

Doncha have any December to post? Lol, pay me no mind, but when I scroll through my subs-- I definitely throw retro Christmas commercials up on the TV. So when I'm seeing yours I'm like "can't watch that one now". But I'm kidding around bc you're not doing this for the momentary views. All throughout the year I love searching for that days commercials, so thank you for all you contribute

🎵Trek the Halls with bells of Holly, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la!🎵
December 22nd, 1989. You can feel the essence and vibe and aesthetic of the 90s starting to take hold. A fledgling new network called "Fox" is playing its hand, an animated Christmas special called "The Simpsons" or something. I foresee big things for this new network, I daresay the 90s will be defined by the kind of energy it brings.
Archive XS has a 2-part video from the same night that was recorded off of another NBC affiliate, KING-TV in Seattle.
hey man, would you happen to have one of the ad bumpers that says something along the lines of "the following is a paid presentation..." i would love to have access to one of those old analog tapings of it
I think i have one of those
@ you should post it, the only one i can find is on the analog cutoff and it looks sick imo, the white text on red background n the seriousness of it all
Those Citi commercials that have men voiced by women and vice versa are so funny!

The late Raymond Burr later starred in the title role of Ironside from 1967 to 1975.
Hoda Kotb willl soon be replaced with Craig Melvin, who is the husband of Lindsay Czarniak (formerly of WRC-TV & later of ESPN).
The "News Channel 13 Today" title would later be put on this station's actual morning newscasts, in line with most NBC owned-and-operated stations and affiliates.
Bull's-Eye had a lot of commercials during the early 1990s that mentioned Heinz, Hunt's and KC Masterpiece.

Diana Olick (based in Washington, DC) & Melissa Lee (based in New York City) are still with CNBC, the latter of whom has hosted Fast Money for 15 years (she replaced the show's original host, Dylan Ratigan, who left for sister network MSNBC in 2009; Ratigan is no longer active in the television industry).
Speaking of WTEN, Scott Morris IV has uploaded the WTEN news opens video on his @SMIVTheMediaArchivist channel, which recently reached 1,000 subs. Also, WTEN's sister stations in Providence, RI debuted new graphics yesterday.
New York City (Giants & Jets), Philadelphia (Eagles) & Washington, DC (Redskins/Commanders) were among the markets that were unaffected.
10:50 WAR OF THE WORLDS
It wasn’t until the late 1990s, when the NY Giants became avid playoff contenders once again. Eventually winning it all in 2007 and 2012.

Super Bowl XXI aired on CBS that season. That broadcast first used what is now the said network's college football theme music, which would be implemented on its college football broadcasts the following season. Ironically enough, the New York Giants beat the Denver Broncos, 39-20, in Super Bowl XXI (which was played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA).
I hope y'a8ll will reply to this this was the day after my 17th birthday

The Simpsons would move to Thursday nights the following month. It returned to Sunday nights 4 years later & has remained there ever since.
Wow! Commercials that actually entertain and inform! I miss those days ( ;
