Dodge Dakota 2004 heater core replacement no AC lines disconnected
I am not an expert, the safest way to do this is probably to let a mechanic evacuate the AC system. But this is how I replace my heater core Without evacuating the AC system or disconnecting the AC lines, all that remained intact.

In this video I show the steps I took to remove the dash from my 2004 Dodge Dakota to replace my heater core, but this process will also gain access to the AC evaporator coil. It is a 5 speed but, the process should be similar for automatics. Please leave a comment if you have any questions. I hope you liked this video. Sub...

      @marksadventuresdiy going to test coolant to see if exhaust is going in it hope not a blown head gasket putting pressure in the system I have not overheated

    • @marksadventuresdiy
      @marksadventuresdiy 19 дней назад

      It sounds like just a bad heater core, if it was a head gasket you would probably be blowing coolant out of the reservoir, or have milky oil and or coolant.

    Hello sir, I have a problem, I hope you can help me please. When I turn on my 2004 Dodge Dakota, steam comes out of the windshield on the inside. I turn on the hot air and also the cold air and it doesn't go away, the steam continues and it doesn't let me see my way, please help.

    • @marksadventuresdiy

      It sounds like the classic symptom of a bad heater core, unfortunately. Mine did not get to that point before I changed it.

    Any tips for the damn box being stuck after getting all the bolts and nuts loose

    • @markforren4533
      @markforren4533 3 месяца назад

      Once I took the 4 nuts off under the hood and the 2 bolts out inside, mine pulled away from the firewall pretty easy. I did have to carefully wiggle it around to get the ac lone clamps through the small opening. But other than that the 2 heater hoses were the only other thing to disconnect. Not sure how many year models are like the 2004.

    • @stephencarr7173
      @stephencarr7173 Месяц назад

      Double check to be sure you didn't miss one. Should not be anything preventing it from pulling back from the firewall except the small fasteners, and you shouldn't have to force it.

    I'M about to remove the 4 wheel drive switch and replace it with a new one. Any tips getting do this ? any easier way?? The new switch has just 3 screws into the back of it,,,If i can get to it without taking ALL the dash out,,,i would like that> thanks

    • @marksadventuresdiy
      @marksadventuresdiy 3 месяца назад

      Hi, If yours is similar to mine, 2004 ish, it doesn't require pulling the whole dash. You can drop the cover under the steering column, then remove the 2 phillips head screws above the instrument cluster, and pull out the dash bezel area from the right of the radio, beside glove box, all the way to the left side of the instrument cluster. The 4wd switch is in that assembly, on mine. Let me know if that works out for you, good luck!

    I saw your comment on "everything you need to know to start a youtube channel today" and thought to support you and subscribe. Keep moving comrade. My suggestion for is that you avoid making your videos too long for retention purposes. For example you can divide your video into part 1 & part 2. Part 1 will be about preparation, materials need, etc part 2 u demonstrate how to apply those materials and final finish.
