Tsogbayar Khorol works as a herder as his family has done for many generations back. He uses a breed of dog, unique to Mongolia, known as the Bankhar to protect his herd against predators and thieves. It is is an ancient dog used by Mongolians since the time of Genghis Khan.

Why were they trying to kill off the Bankhar dogs? Because of diseases without scientific evidence. Even if they are infected with contagious diseases, you don't need to wipe out the Bankhar dogs. Isolate or euthanize the infected dogs. Besides, if the disease affected the Bankhar dogs, it will also affect all other dogs. The logic behind this is similar to our fingers being stink by insects. The solution then is to cut off our fingers to prevent them from being stunk again. This reminds me of dogs infected by rabies in a city inside China about 20 years ago, that ignorant and cruel city government ordered the killing of all dogs inside the city. Beautiful dogs and I am glad the people are trying to bring back this ancient dog breed. God bless the people and their Bankhar dogs.
