Becky book reviews
Добавлен 30 ноя 2015
I'm Becky and I live in England. This is a channel that allows me to talk about the thing I love most in the world - reading. For 2016 I have set myself a challenge to read one book every week for a year. Now as a bookworm I read a lot of books, which has resulted in me now having a big book collection and no money to buy new ones. So I have decided to read one book a week for a year just from my current book collection. Some I'll be re-reading, some are books I haven't gotten round to reading yet. Here I am going to post my reviews of each of the book and post videos about my view of books in general. This is something for me but if you want to watch my videos, make comments or ask any questions then please do. If anyone enjoys this channel like I know I will that makes me very happy. Enjoy and remember, as George R.R. Martin said, the man who reads is the luckiest man in the world. The man who doesn't read only gets to live one life, the man who reads gets to live thousands :D

Book #321 Review - The Tattooist of Auschwitz

Here are my thoughts having read The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris. I also discuss the drama which you can find the trailer for below: ruclips.net/video/xWD93s8ZD9g/видео.htmlsi=-M8q6gc0MEEE0_S5 One thing I forgot to say about the drama in my video is that it explored things such as what Lale would have said in a moment had he known what the future would bring and the process of him ...

Merry Christmas to you all as well. Hope you have a lovely time.
Congratulations on finishing for Christmas Becky. I've loved this year's advent calendar. What a lovely selection of books! This one looks super good. Your Mum is so talented. Have a super lovely Christmas with your family, and thank you for all your lovely videos. 🎄🎄
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you and your family too
@@beckybookreviews7820 Thank you so much :-)
Stunning Becky! That is so clever. I adore that book Xx
Hi there. Great to see so many good books in your advent calendar. You might already know but this is Tom Hindle’s second book - his first is A Fatal Crossing.
@il120 thanks, I love the mix of books too. I wasn't aware of that, I only saw the books I listed in the video on amazon at the time of recording. That's good to know 🙂
I love the historical detail here on the background of Bath. As an American, I appreciated the context; thank you <3! You ladies are great commentators.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Becky, came in to youtube to see if anyone had started reviewing the TV adaption of this. I agree that Troubled Blood is a slightly better book, but am looking forward now to watch your view about The Running Grave. That for me is the greatest of them all, and I am on the second read right now, the first time in my life I'm re-reading anything in the same year of a first read. The length of the books are a delight for me also, so good on your forthright view on that. I feel JK's writing craft developing through each novel.
She is amazing at what she does in this books. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book
What a lovely Christmas keepsake made from a cherished classic by your amazingly creative Mum!
Omgoodness i love these vides. The limericks are amazing. Yiu parents rock! Love your enthusiasm too it radiates theough the screen. Thanks for sharung. Im honna have ti catch up on all these videos when i get another break. Thanks for sharing. Subscribed too #918. Happy Reading ~ Tracey
Oh how clever this is. I adore Beatrix Potter world. I have had these books for my children and grandbabies too. Just magic. Thanks for sharing
I'm 38, love books, and am close to my family, as well...what a sweet idea of your mum <3! My sister and I are planning to get around to your Strike videos before/while reading The Cuckoo's Calling. I first stumbled onto your video with your sister from 7 years back and immediately thought, "This reminds me so much of Ashley and me," haha. Merry CHRISTmas, and thanks for the fun videos!
That's so sweet. Merry Christmas to you and your sister too!
hey
This was a lovely finish to a horrible day for me Becky. Thank you for the video. I adore Beatrix. I've been to her house. I cried. I highly recommend it-you feel like you've stepped into her books. Looking forward to you experiencing the book. My advent calendar is herbal teas! 🌲🌲
Congratulations ❤
Hi becky how are you ? cannot wait for the hallmarked man to be finished hope your dad is okay and feeling better xxx
No offense but now I want your mom to start a RUclips crafting channel.
@@bluecobaltsteph2689 me too! 🫶🏻
I’m curious for your thoughts on “The Tattooist of Auschwitz” the comparison to the drama is fascinating
I'm not watching because I haven't even read the first in this series, but am planning to (soon), due to the review you made some time back with your sister. I love seeing you and your sister interact...reminds me of my own "commentaries" with my sister...<3!
I love this - your Mum is so talented! Can’t wait for you to open the first one..
I can really relate about feeling sad for books on the shelf. I love this idea so, so much. You've inspired me.
@@Abi-bh7hs that's so sweet!
I've been so wondering what you would do!
Good wishes to your dad Enjoy and look forward to your videos 8:11 9:23 😊 13:53 13:55
Always look forward to your videos. i'm watching today's set of videos these backwards because Advents are my favorite! Saving the best for last.
I so enjoy your voice and spirit. I really appreciate these videos and tho it would drive me bonkers that gloominess you are presently in , I have to say you look so cozy in those Jammies😊
@kathleenmcnally9583 Thank you! I was lovely and warm and enjoy sitting in them when I read!
I love the Shardlake books and enjoyed the TV series, looking forwards to watching more. Yeah would have been nice for him to have seen some of it. Next time wear a mask with the chillies!
I live in the south too and yeah, lights on at midday it’s crazy. I see that this book has got you emotional, i have never read any Cookson books, but this mad me feel like i want to.
@@Bookishtravels1 if you do, I'd love to hear what you think
@ surely will :)
thank you! just read this book
I love Winslet's Matilda audiobook! This sounds like a great book - thanks for sharing.
Roald’s daughter Olivia and his sister Astri were both 7yrs old when they sadly died. Astri died from complications after an appendicitis, Olivia from measles. Myself and my son have just read “boy” and “flying solo”.
@carlyw9014 thanks!
I’m interested in the Murder isn’t Easy book. I’ve just bought A is for Arsenic, can’t wait to read it but have realised I need still have a few more Christie novels to read first if I don’t want to risk potential spoilers.
Oh, I absolutely loved profit song. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. And the armour of light was just as good as the other books in the series. Enjoy Becky 4:08
I love this book too, have you read the next one?
I hope you enjoy your book choices. Best wishes and happy reading.
I personally don’t mind you “waffling” in your videos. I really enjoy them.
Good grief, get your act together. You are rambling and almost incoherent …
Confession time. I have never read an Agatha Christie novel. But the way you describe this one has me curious. I might have to check to see if my library system has a copy so I can give her a try. Great review as always!!
@@KariBare it's never too late to give her books a go. Would love to hear your thoughts when you do. I also highly recommend And Then There Were None for a first read of hers
Love seeing your interaction with your sister---my sister and I are also super close and enjoy BBC dramas (though we live in the US), though we haven't watched this particular one. Time is awesome, both seasons, if you haven't already gotten around to it! Even my pet duck watches BBC dramas with me at times, lolol. Cultured fowl :): ruclips.net/user/shorts9QC6JCWGh4A
I just purchased this book almost new for just $0.25, so I'm excited...thank for your review :)!

Thank you so much for this book review about such a wonderful book as A Street Cat Named BOB is 💯👍 BOB saved my life too, so I'm such grateful with him ! 🧡🙏 BOB will live always and forever in my heart ! 😻🐾🧡🧡🧡
I have read so many fantastic books 100% due to your book reviews. Up until now, I have not been interested in Catherine Cookson. I can't say why. But this trilogy - will read all 3. Your passion and emotions about the books, the stories, the characters, etc - give me goosebumps sometimes. Keep being you.
@SylviaW2022 thank you so much! I really hope you enjoy her books. Would love to know what you think of them. FYI, only a small number of her books are still published now and tend to be published under different titles, so second-hand bookshops are a great place to source her books
Greetings from the United States! Thank you for this channel and your videos, I just picked up a copy of a book called Rutherford Park by Elizabeth Cook, and on the back of it, mention was made of an author by the name of Catherine Cookson. I got on Wikipedia and began to read about her, and it really blew me away, the story of her life, how she started, and what an incredible legacy she left, what a life she lived! In searching for some more information about her, I happen to run into your page, and I'm going to enjoy watching your reviews of some of the books that you read. Like you, books are my ultimate passion. I don't fit the stereotype, I look more like an adrenaline Sports Junkie that is headed for the nearest mountain or river somewhere, but I have always been so fascinated with Great Britain, especially from early 20th century back to the beginning of the 18th century. I just did a watch through Downton Abbey and was looking for some type of literature that would feed that addiction the series created in my thoughts, I'm hoping your page might help me in that regard. Thank you for taking the time to post this, God bless you, and I'm sure you'll hear from me again, Becky!
@TheMyco-Psycho thank you so much! I am reading a Catherine Cookson trilogy at the moment, so I will be reviewing that ASAP. If you like gothic style literature set in victorian era Britain, I highly recommend the works of Laura Purcell. Older British history, my go to books are by C J Sansom (the Shardlake crime series) and Ken Follett (the Kingsbridge series). Would love to hear of any books you are reading and your views on them. I'm looking forward to further chats on videos 🙂
