It’s a shame there’s no way into 1/8 stocks without being on Facebook. If only the stock car clubs would build a website or even the parts manufacturers. I’ve had many 1/8 stocks over the years & quite fancy racing one properly but I don’t want to join Facebook so I can’t. It’s a shame because it will die out & there’s bound to be loads of old die-hards like me about. Remember Lilford?

Several Yrs ago Guy I knew Did Stock Cars, He had a Home Made Laith type of thing to Cut Grooves into the Tyres, is that sill Permitted ?

How much is a kit ? And where to get one from ?

Hi looking to get back into this and just wondering who stocks the components to buy so I can build my own car. Just restored my old Mk1 mardave 1/8th stockcar and fancy building something new. Thanks, Nigel.

My compliments for the nice car. I am interested in buying one.......Are these for sale ? Where can i buy one, or at least the parts to build one ?

I used to do the rounds in the late 80's and completed with the likes of Mike Powell (world champion) at Lilford, and taking the podium on that occasion. I used to fabricate my own chassis and race tune my Nova Rossi - pro buggy 21 powerplant - It was so powerful that Bob Middleton reckoned he'd do-tune it. Hahaha Oh the good old days!

Why the 2nd band on rear axle?

So you actually build a clutch simular to a "centax" clutch on a "Serpent" car. Except that the shoes are made for a "normal" clutch housing. Nicely done. I have one question, how do you lubricate the clutch, because you don't have bearings between clutch and crankshaft. Do you use some kind of thin oil? Or are you afraid that the oil is running onto the shoes, and therefore you don't lucricate at all? I used to race stock cars in Belgium in my early days back in 1984-85, toghether with "Jeepee". But then I got over to 1/8 IC cars. Back then we still used clutches with 8 teeth onto the housing, so they had a needle bearing. By the way, isn't it much easier to use some thread lock on the nut instead of flattening the tread. that is what I would do, that is what I've always done on my centax clutches.
