Technics SL-1200Mk2 & SL-1210Mk2 power knob
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.7 лет назад
We have had these power knobs re-manufactured, they are a high quality alternative to the genuine Technics part which is now obsolete / no longer available. This is our V2.0 version for which used a different factory, the moulding and overall finish is much better than our V1.0 version. Printing on this V2.0 version is bright white and bolder than V1.0 Can replace Technics parts numbers SFKT122...
What to be done in case of technics SL 1900 Same problem of high speed as yours. Pcb is very small compared to this one.
about lubrication - can we use a machine oil - I have a panasonic oil for my shaver - or I must use original - that's what's in the manual? ;-)
Any good synthetic oil will be OK - we supply the original type Technics supplied (Anderol 465) www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265513316467?epid=11013043733&itmmeta=01HX16TWW3TVE3703KDNSHQRC1&hash=item3dd1d3b073:g:RdIAAOSwf8BgsLBi
Thanks !
I had the exact same symptom as you described, and using your excellent video as a guide, I followed the same circuit analysis with my DMM to determine that I had the same problem with C216. I replaced it and all is well. You saved me countless hours/days of frustration. I can't thank you enough. Great stuff. Keep it up.
My 1200MK2 has a different cap in the C216 location. It's a yellow colored 47 uF 10V. This board all original. Perhaps they switched some of these components when they released the 1210. This thing has a runaway speed issue also. I hope I don;t have to replace that drive IC. I'm a noob.
Awsome video, Thank you. Can you use any graphite grease? I am looking at Penrite Graphite Grease 500g - GRGR0005. Would this be a suitable product Kevin?
I have an SP-10 MK2 that had the same problem. It spun really fast at first then a few weeks later, it completely stopped spinning. Do you think the issue is caused by the same cap that perhaps died? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
well done I like how you know how to test the paths on the PCB using the schematic. I can only locate an obvious burner and replace it,
Tengo una tornamesa Technics sl 5200 que tiene el mismo problema del sl 1200, este detalle de velocidad del ejemplo del sl 1200 lo puede aplicar a mi tornamesa.
do you have the specs or a link to order this cap from you or anywhere a link would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
nevermind I will just locate and replace whatever is bad using specs on the cap inside, dur :) TY
thank you so much for this video.
PLEASE HELP IM A SCRATCH SAMPLE DJ I HAVE NUMARK PRO TT-1 I PULL THE PLATTER BACK AND IT SPINNS FORWARD REALY FAST
What is the regular temperature range for the Q201 transistors? And if it is running too hot what is the likely component to blame for overloading it?
Same fault here, but only C205 went to short circuit leaving AN6680 input stage without bias voltage.
Great video but none of the mentioned has worked. Replaced - R221, C216, C201 and Q203. Checked AN6680 and AN6675 still have the problem
Check the detector coil for continuity
i realize this is a more thorough job but is there anything wrong with leaving the motor in and just dropping a few drops down the sides of the spindle??
Hi Brian, A couple of drops down the spindle is recommended maintenance so nothing wrong at all doing that periodically 🙂
There are some bearings for the 1210 with a black cog next the thrust plate can they be stripped down for cleaning or is that cog pressed on
Hi, There are three "clips" holding the cog onto the shaft and these can be prised open enough to release the cog BUT they tend to be brittle and can snap off so proceed with caution.
Mine has the older style bearing. I didn't want to risk taking the cog off, so I just cleaned off all the gunk I could see, put a tiny bit of graphite grease back in the dimple on the thrust plate, and a couple of drops of oil down the spindle gap. It's definitely better.
Waht kind of oil (Name) are you using on the spindle? The bottle with the pink cap?
Mobil 1 engine oil is fine
Great vid ty. I 'm trying to repair my technics too and was wondering do you have non copper or non lithium based grease for the arm height arm adjustment mechanism in your store? Mine has kind of welded together. I bought some lithium based stuff but I've been told thats a no no. I thought to ask as you may have done this yourself. Much appreciated!
Hi, There are pros and cons to all grease types e.g lithium / synthetic / mineral etc - we've found Industrial grade petroleum jelly to be a great option. We don't stock it however it's not hard to find 🙂
@@kevinwilby That's great news. I appreciate the help. I saved you as a seller too as you have some great stuff in your shop I noticed. Thanks again Kevin!
cool
Have had these from dj spares, highly recommend, great quality and easily applied.
Hi what's the name of the bottom black bit you replaced I can't find any
Hi James, here is a link to the thrust plate / bearing - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304108444566
@@djspares thank you ever so much diamond 💎
I have a problem with my plate, where is the problem?
The best video on RUclips. He explains everything in detail. 👌
Had work done here, can't recommend the guy highly enough, don't go anywhere else!
Extremely helpful. I have an SL-1900 with a similar problem. Where would one locate the schematics for the motor board? Thanks for the great video.
Hi Bill, Drop me an email info@djspares.com and I'll send you the service manual :-)
Hi. I've seen your faders for sale on eBay. Would these fit the 1210 m3D. ?
Hi Colin, The M3D has the separate "reset switch" which this Mk2 version lacks so it wouldn't be suitable however we have the parts the make the M3D version in stock and should be listing some next week :-)
@@djspares i thought it would be best to check as the m3D has a quartz lock button and mk2 has central lock on the pitch its self.
Thank you gentlemen, you inspire me. Have a good one.
I have a SL-1210 i bought new in 1992. I haven't used it sense 1996, because the pitch control acts funny, the stock RCAs jacks are shot & pop up light/pitch control light don't work. The turntable powers up. How much would it cost to get repaired? Thanks!
Drop us a message info@djspares.com
Hi thank for this I've jsut orderd an uprated spindle And it comes with a lump o wax i assume the unit sits on top o the wax when insatilin back together 1 do you know what im on about 2 what dos the wax acutaly do the thrustplate and bottom of bearing /spindle Thank you for your time
Hi, Melt the wax into the void / hole under the spindle / bearing using a hot air gun or even a hairdryer. Filling this gap couples the thrust plate to the chassis.
excellent
great job mate..really
So satisfying!
Kev at DJ Spares is fantastic. If you have any faulty DJ equipment then Kev is the man to fix it for you.I have sent my prized processions which have been repaired to a very high standard and sent back to me in pristine condition.I would not go anywhere else for my DJ repairs.Fair price on repairs and in a quick turnaround time so check this guy out on ebay for all your parts and service needs.

I saved your store on ebay. If i need parts (Which I may do) I will contact you on there :-)
Thank you very much DJ Spares for sharing this testing, fault finding and repair process. I have been searching for solution for my Technics SL-D2 turntable for the same Running too fast problem. I will try to diagnose and find if any resistor or capasitor is faulty as you have explained.
looking for this cap is it on your ebay store?.. link please. TY.

Do you need to buy glue to apply the new trims?
Hi, No glue require - these trims have pressure sensitive double sided tape applied to them so it is just a case of peel and stick. Hope this helps :-)
How much and where can I buy?
How do you remove the original to stick on the replacement? Does the deck need to be opened or can the original be removed somehow without opening?
Hi, The original is just stuck on with double sided tape so if you use a small (preferably plastic) tool to lift it off by inserting your tool into the slot and pulling it up, once it is off scrape away the remaining glue before fitting the new trim. Hope this helps :-)
