I am glad that I still can hear about Gurkha's troops from Lundu going into action at Kpg Plaman Mapu. Here at Kpg Raso 1 Lundu where there's many foxhole and former mini camp still existing but it's to old and buried ,collapse,But the history was really there.
Thanks for the information. I hope I can visit Kpg. Raso and do some recordings one day.
Hi uncle, where is the actual japanese pool was located?
It was located in between the teachers quarters in the compound of St. Thomas's Secondary School. I don't think it is there anymore because right now, a columbarium is being built there.
Abundant potential. Thanks for the showcase. Are these courses offered only to people who intend to be nature guides?
All trained tourist guides can apply for the courses.
Wow good story. Is that house open for public to photograph, sir ?🥳
It's a private house, so you have to ask permission from the house owners.
@BenThiko owh but how to reach the house owner? Need to contact them first.
My visit was arranged by a friend. I see what I can do but no promises ya @@Terence_87
@BenThiko thanks a lot uncle. That helps a lot. Just want to photograph the house only. Not going inside the house 🙏🥳
Amazing Joy
Indeed, it was a joyous occasion
Well done and thank you. It was really an inspiring évent 😊😊😊
Yes, hope it will be the start of more of such events
You chose the more comfortable mattress .... ? It is beautiful. But the thing is, nothing else around there. We were there.
Yup, I chose the mattress. The main attractions here are the hiking trails and the turtles.
@@BenThiko true👍
The tapioca chips offered are very nice, not greasy. The pepper is very rounded and aromatic, not like those we are getting in supermarkets. Buy! I should have bought more.
Their products are indeed of good quality.
Today, my family and I visited Annah Rais, a remarkable experience that transported us to a different world after just an hour's drive from Kuching. The village has a modest entry fee of 10 Ringgit, which directly supports the local community. We were warmly welcomed by the kind and genuine people of Annah Rais. What stood out to me was the authenticity of the experience - this isn't a staged attraction for tourists but a glimpse into real life. We had the pleasure of meeting Arthur Borman, who shared fascinating stories about the history and culture of the Bidayuh people. Hearing him play his traditional instrument in person was an unforgettable experience. The sound is even more captivating live. Arthur is truly a treasure, and his pride in his heritage is evident. Meeting him and visiting Annah Rais gave us a deeper understanding and appreciation of the local community.
Glad you enjoyed your visit to Annah Rais. Arthur is indeed a very knowledgeable man and the best person to talk about Annah Rais.
Haha I am a rugby parent! My son also plays rugby!
You all just missed the tournament by a week!
@@BenThiko Agenda for next Kuching trip: - Visit a rugby club or a running club - Re-visit Annah Rais and Arthur - explore different areas in terms of living
Noted, Ben. Do not know if we can make it this time, but noted.
A day trip is good enough if you can spare a day :)
Thank you for the video and this suggestion, Ben!

Well done ladies. Thumbs up.
Hi. Mind to share the directions of Pangkalan Tebang accurately. Because I cannot trust my Google maps 😅.
Hi, you can rely on Google map to go there. I used it to guide me there and I find it very accurate, right to the old shophouses. You just type Pangkalan Tebang Old Shophouses and the directions given are very clear and accurate. From Kuching, you go towards Kpg. Tringgus. Just a few km. from Kpg. Tringgus, there is a junction on the left-hand side that leads to the bazaar. There is a big signboard showing the direction to the bazaar just before the junction.
@BenThiko Okay sir. Is there fee entrance before entering the bazaar? Do we need a local guide to reach the bazaar? And do we require to meet ketua kampung before enter the bazaar?
@@Terence_87anyone is free to visit the bazaar as it is a public area. However, we are not allowed to catch fish from the river and hiking will require local guides to lead the way.
I didn't finish watching the video. It got too creepy 😅
Go ahead and watch till the end. You can not leave it hanging like that! 😀
There are things we don't understand and they should be left alone, in my opinion.
Maybe that is why I didn't get to complete my visit there and no more visits of this nature since then 😀
It's like a scene straight from The Twilight Zone and Scooby Doo where are you TV series. So scary and full of suspense, accentuated by the moaning background music. A nice change from your usual video. I give you 5 likes.
Glad you like it.
Isit legal to wash these Grave stones ?
I don't see any problem, but I guess permission is needed from the church.
I heard there's only remain remnant of railway located next to 7th mile ayam champion. If you found it, please make a video. Thanks yeah 🙏
Yes, I also just knew about this and will be making a visit to trace it.
@BenThiko it's next to old wooden house. Me and my friend discover it today.
Thanks. Will look for it this week.@@Terence_87
@@BenThiko you're welcome. Bring the parang or scythe grass to cut the wild grasses down. So you see clearly the majestic railway 🥳👌
Have you been a student there yourself?
No. I studied in West Malaysia.
When will be the next durian season in Sarawak?
Probably end of the year
Why are you not able to fish in the river? Is it because of pollution?
The villagers are trying to follow a system of conservation as practised in Sabah called the 'Tagal' system where certain stretches of rivers are prohibited for fishing and can only be harvested during certain times of the year.
Thank you for another interesting video. So much to learn!
Thanks. Glad you like the video.
My kpg...if you see the japanese soldier bunker can find in my RUclips video, anyway bravo promote my kpg and most we live here can speak hakka and mandarin, myself half bidayuh Chinese 🙌🙌🙌
Thanks. Will check the japanese bunker in your video,
@BenThiko Thank bro,you should go there and experience yourself
@@dyricxbayting4419 Yes I will. I will be arranging with Mr. Matnor to do that. Hope to meet you also one day.
Can hike up the hill?
Yes, you can but it is not an easy climb and you have to go through private land, which, I think permission is needed.
My oh my is this beautiful there! And the birds are the medicine for the stressed soul. How many more beautiful places to uncover must there be in Sarawak ...
Do come and visit

Can you find out why the Ang Cheng ho tallest building was demolished?
Thank you for this very nostalgic video. I was in the British Army Air Corps...serving in Kuching at the time of this battle. Later I flew some trips into Serian....I also flew into Lundu quite a bit...and I actually lost a comrade whose helicopter left Lundu in the dark...carrying an Indonesian prisoner and a Gurkha guard...and was never seen again..they crashed in the sea...later some fishermen caught some parts of his helicopter in their nets. Years later I was very proud to be presented with the Pinjat Malaysia...by the Malaysian high commisionar in the UK ...in Colchester Essex. I am now 79 years of age...but remember Borneo as if it was only last week when I was there. A beautiful country with beautiful people...I want to say thank you to you all and to say that I am very proud to have earned the Pinjat Malaysia in defence of your lovely country. God bless you all.❤
Thank you so much for your sharing. Hope to meet you in person one day.
I am German, not old enough to have any personal relation with WW2. But I'd like to say thank you to all the people in the world who have forgiven the Germans. So please also forgive the Japanese people. Forgiving not forgetting is what's important.
I guess it's up to the individual countries involved in the war. Some have cordial relationships with Japan now, while others are not.
