If your agitator plate is moving freely within the drum , it could be the hub assembly, the sprocket that holds that in place. My best advice would be to get your free or very low priced professional to tell you what's wrong with it then determine if you can do it yourself. This job would have costed me over $300. But I paid the small fee to make sure what it was then fixed it myself
This is great video but I've been trying to get that top bolt off for 3 day now until i was in tears. I've almost got it completely stripped! THEN what am I going to do??? Ive soaked it with PB BLASTER and then another video suggested Citric Acid. I'm still trying, though. You definitely need 2 people. One to hold the drum and the other person to run the ratchet or inpact wrench.
I sprayed a degreaser right in the middle of the bolt and left it for 20 minutes. FYI, impact may be good for taking off the bolt but a hand tool is best when putting it back on. Too much torque will give you problems later on. Good luck and i hope you get it fixed
I am doing this job right now and this video was absolutely priceless! I have been trying to get the wash plate loose for hours. Quite a job on our machine. Thank you for the tips!
You made it that far you should have just removed the basket and cleaned all the hair pins and coins out of the drain pan. Thanks for the video on how to remove the impeller i used a shoe string.
Man awesome video but instead of hooks a belt like belt for your pants etc go from the bottom around the drum and a good jerk will make that job so much easier. Remember if you gotta go there again.
I didn't have that issue. But..... I did had to tap down the new part all the way to the bottom. Maybe it's possible it's not down all the way on yours
I paid the money for the serviceman to come out. To tell me exactly what was wrong that way I was able to buy and repair everything on my own. I think that was the best approach so I wouldn't buy anything I didn't need
That washer sucks. Its loud, takes long, water levels are retarded, doesn't wash good, alot of stop and start. This 1 tuber pulled up on the rim of the entire drum to loosen that impeller and wiggled it out easy after that.
Thank you very much. You saved me so much time. This is the best video. I found 15$ in change in the drain hole. I hope it fix’s my issue . When I turn on the washer on the sensing, I get a clicking sound like it trying to start spinning. It then just continues to click
@@cousinvinnie did u use the kabob hooks to still lift it up after the degreaser or were u able to pull them with your hands and it just came off after degreaser?.
Hubs usually go bad because water gets between hub and shaft, rusting out shaft. New hubs won't last long due to shaft rust damage ( splines wore). Bad design for customer excellent design for not lasting over 7 yrs
Stank booty ass clothes 🤣 I paid too much money for someone to come tell me what was wrong with it. He also said the drain pump and was wrong af, but that's besides the point. He said like $500 fix this. Nah. I'm a single mom and I got this washer for free, so no thank you. This saved my LIFE! Side note.. to get the agitator off I nearly killed myself and burned the house down, butttt finally got a dog leash and shimmied it down under the agitator thing and pulled up on both sides. Came right off. Might have knocked me into the wall because I was pulling so hard, but it came off!! I'm going to start charging people to do this for a little side hustle. So thanks!
great video, I didn't know my washer was also a piggy bank....but anyway, the more important thing is this explained everything and great instructions, I'm back in business and the washer is now doing the spin cycle.. awesome....
I watched 3 other videos and tore apart the bottom of the washer before I found this, and it was the problem. Wish I had watched this one first. Wouldn't have had to disassemble so much. Thanks for the help.
I can't recall the part number. I had the part identified to me from the free estimate from the appliance repair guy. Then I went to my local HVAC supply store and ask for the drive hub assembly for the model of my washer
I have the exact same washer and it was doing the same thing. I checked the clutch, and belt. They were fine. I found your video and checked the hub. Totally gone, no teeth to be seen. Ordered a replacement on Amazon, one day delivery. Problem solved. I did find a nice trick to getting the agitator out, pull up the tube several times which looses the agitator, then a little wiggle and it popped off. Thanks for the video.
hey Cousin Vinnie - thank you. the repair man told us it was the transmission - $75 dollars later. said it wasn't worth repairing. $300 to $400 to fix. thanks to you $11.50, 1 hour 20 minutes later and bam - working washing machine. Great Video - thanks for the help
thats real cool. glad it worked out for you. i bought the washer dryer as a pair and it out warranty by 2 years. i didnt want to give up on it or spend a lot of money. i rather would go back to the public laundry befor buying a new washer.hahahaha!!! DIY!!!!!!

Yeah so I’ve done what you did, and another step, watched to tons more videos getting an actuator from Amazon But eBay USED IS SO CHEAP. At this point I really thinks It needs the electronic control board. $40 bucks free ship and I’ve so far spent 20 still so you know Fucken worth it l lol even if I rebuild it!
Could be the hub assembly. But make sure the motor and it's components are intact. Spend the small fee or get the free estimate to confirm. Then DIY if your confident to do it. Money saver for real

any videos on replacing the seals. do you do the exact same thing to get to the seals?
Mine does the same thing but I think the teeth at the top, where the main bolt of the impeller goes are stripped

If your having trouble getting the middle part out, pull the tub up and with other hand reach in the middle with a pair of pliers, pulls right out.
